He kept saying he didn't do it.He kept telling them he had no hand in this.
He kept screaming that he was innocent.But no one believed him. No one.
He knew he had anger issues, and that once he lost his senses he could do anything, but this was something which he could never even dream of doing, yet every person whom claimed that they were his loved ones didn't believe him. He felt like something break inside of him at the thought that his own loved ones thought he could fall at such a level.
Every single one of them thought he could do something so dreadful. For once when he was right they all called him wrong. Every single person looked at him with disgust, blamed him, saw him as a cold hearted killer. Every pair of eyes looked at him with disgust and hatred at even knowing him.
Everyone looked at him as a disgrace to their family, to their blood, the Thakur blood.
Even her.
A part of him could have still lived with his so called family calling him a killer, but seeing her looking at him as if he was an animal made his whole inside shatter to pieces.
Her hatred and disgust filled eyes pierced his heart, and broke every little dream, every little hope, everything inside of him. At that moment he felt his whole world shatter. A world which he had revolved around her, had just been broken by that one look from her.
He eyes stared at her trying to tell her that he was innocent. Trying to question her how she could even think he could do this. But she just looked away, as if even looking at him was a disgrace to humankind.
His insides were boiling under the gaze of hatred and disgust from his loved ones.
"Bas ab bahut hua. Aaj Laakhan ne saari seemaye paar kar di. Aaj ussne masoom logo ko jala dala," said Phulan.
"Meine kuch nahi kiya, " muttered Laakhan for what seemed like the gazillionth time.
"Tum ne kuch nahi kiya. Toh phir yeh pura kaandh kisne kiya hai. Mein acchi tarah se janta hoon ki tum gusse mein kuch bhi kar sakte ho. Per meine kabhi nahi socha tha ki tum is had tak gir sakte ho. Sharam aati hai mujhe tumhe iss khandan ka beta kehte hua," Phulan continued.
"Mein kuch nahi kiya hai,"said Laakhan again.
"Bas ab mein thumari koi bata nahi suna chata. Meine tumhe ek mauka diya tha Poonam ka dil jeetne ke liye, per ab aur mauka nahi mileya tumhe, ab tumhe saja mileye gi. Aaj mein elaan karta hoon ki Poonam ki shaadi mein karwaoonga, who bhi apne bete Priyom ke saath. Yeh mera akhiri faisla hai," said Phulan before storming out of the haveli.
Laakhan was stunned. He couldn't believe what his baade papa had just said. Just a few seconds ago he had felt his world shatter but now it seemed liked that last little dream that was keeping him alive had just been smashed. He felt his whole world burn infornt of his eyes. Poonam priyom...how was that possible.
He didn't understand when once he had done nothing wrong then why was he been given such a big punishment. At that moment he was unable to feel any emotion; it was like someone had ripped his heart out to bleed.
He felt numb, he felt nothing, he couldn't feeling anything at that moment.
No pain, no tears, nothing.
Every single person who he called his own, every person who were a part of his world, had pushed him into a fire to burn to ashes. Each and every being dearest to him, had snatched his sole purpose of living, away from him and left him with nothing except a stamp of been a disgrace.
They had stolen his little dreams, his happiness, his every emotion from him. They had stripped him naked and left him to die in his despair.
He had no one to call his own anymore.
And at that realisation, after many years, he felt a tear escape his eye.
