well so far I've liked the show, because for me some of the things were unpredictable and came as a shock. I'm not really keeping any expectations but I'm watching it till I can tolerate.
As of love triangles, that's the main point/center of the story I believe. We all knew since the first episode or even before, that Bindiya's entry and track is going to effect everyone's life because she's going to that baharwali in every male-female relationship. So love triangles are expected, as far as they don't just give like 99% of the show to that and another 1% to other stuff.

This is just my POV. no offense meant to anyone.

I would like to thank members for the respective replies. Yes you are right ..maybe I need to be more patient and give the show more time. I guess shows like Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, House of Cards etc have resulted in me having a comparatively short attention span. How I long for Indian television to be as gripping as the ones abroad but hopefully we would get there one day..
Meanwhile I would give Begusarai another chance- yesterday's episode did seem promising. Some new storylines seem to be opening up and from the looks of it Bindiya vs Maya seems to be on card. Now that's going to be captivating.

My grouse against love stories in my last post was directed not just against Begusarai but also towards Indian Television in general. In my opinion every Indian TV show is carried forward on the basis of love story..it seems to be an easy way out for content developers, something like the Saas-Bahu era a decade back. I guess its about taking risks which I thought & TV was aiming for. I have nothing against love..we Indians are suckers for all things mushy but love is just one of the basic human emotions.

Love plays an important part in everyone's life..heck my wife and me have had an awesome love story but I repeat there is much more to life than just this. & TV has been given a blank canvass and now its upto them to rewrite Indian Television. Please don't mess this up guys..

I would give this show more time and would also look forward to interacting more with you guys. It seems like an intelligent and informed forum. Cheers Guys !

I think you are expecting too much too soon. That's not how Indian soaps work.😆
IMO, the foundation for the theme and characters are being laid.

Give this show a month's time it'll pick up.

I think at the moment, the writers are giving us some vague hints and in the process developing the characterization.

These hints make us prone to do guess work which is probably a clever ruse by the writers. That's one way to keep us coming back to the show just to see if our guess is right!

I haven't seen a peep of romance except for Poonam's fond looks at Priyom who seems totally unaware of them. I particularly like the way Poonam gets things done via Priyom...of course, unknowingly..till now, that is.
At the moment she all grateful to Priyom but who knows, the writers must be having something else up their sleeves. Lakahan's changing attitude shows he's open to ideas if they are shown to him the right way and Priyom may just be a catalyst in this relationship.
As for Mithilesh, on the face of it he is the obvious choice to take over the mantle from his father. But the fact that Phoolan is not entirely sure about it lays the foundation for another twist. Bindhya could be wrong in thinking he's the next Raja of Begusari...when he may just miss the bus.

My point is, everything may not be as they seem at the moment. Things might/will change before we even know it...that's what keeps me coming back for more.

Btw, I like the way you write. 😃

The difference between Begusarai and shows like Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, House of Cards, Reign, Arrow, Castle, The Originals, The Flash is that these shows make each episode like a movie. It gives you all the contents that a movie has per episode. While Begusarai is an Indian daily soap which builds its story day by day. Also the above shows comes once a week, while begusarai comes 5 times a week. So, there will be some stretching but as far it hasn't stretched anything yet.
