I'd have been okay w/ Santosh had all the bahus in the family been women who had no ambitions, and simply wanted to become housewives - and same for Komal. But that was not the case. While Komal wanted to do modelling, her devrani wanted to do computers, and I'm not sure what the others wanted to do. But if Santosh was this strict, she should have ensured that her sons all married exactly the type of girls who agreed w/ her on this from the get-go, not those who got converted to it after marriage.

But given that that's not the case, I don't blame anyone for being resentful. Shikha's initial reaction was actually logical - she thought that if Sarika is allowed to study, all the other bahus would have more freedoms as well. And I'm totally w/ her on that - I thought it inconsiderate of Santosh to return something that Shikha had bought b'cos it was on a Thursday.

But I do hope the show doesn't turn the other bahus into vamps if Santosh doesn't examine the fairness of her actions. What Dadi said was a load of crap - that difference b/w modelling and being a doc. Is this show trying to say that becoming a doc is the only thing a married woman has a right to be, and other than that, her place is in the kitchen? If that's what it is, it needs to fail, and fail badly.

Ideally, the other hubbies, like Shikhas, ought to stand up for their wives like Jai and Rakesh. Komal should call Rakesh and leave, and tell him that she doesn't want to have anything to do w/ her mom, and just sever ties w/ her. Then, w/ Rakesh, she can do whatever they agree on, and be much happier.
