I think he don't think she is selfish..but will be happy that she left to fulfill their dream..but kuch tho hoga..like..

1.Ani gets shot while boarding the train and he sends bonditha to his friend..to study and then here due to circumstances created by tm he can't go...and due to this gap of 8 years..he shuts off his emotions due to guilt that he backed off from his promise of being with her...so he builts a wall around his heart...and after 8 years bonditha has to break it...

2. That dulha surprisingly helps bonditha to run away and helps her to reach london...(I know this is not possible..but just kyaal man me aaya) and tm ne Ani ko viswaas dilaya ki shaadi was done and he blames himself and turns stone heated and shuts his emotions

3. Kaka kuch hoga...and he thinks all that happened bcz he was obsessed with krantikari and from then he promises kaka to support them as zamindaar...and shuts his heart foreever...(before this happened he would have sent bonditha to his friend Salim..)
