The New Track- Annulment

#barristerbabu is a period drama. It is set in the year 1920. It was a different time, where every relationship required a name, women were treated like trash & a commodity basically, now in times like this, can we really expect AniDita to end their marriage & have a benam rishta?? & it will be especially difficult for Bon because she will have to face a lot of insults & taunts of the society for being a divorcee. Once their marriage ends, the society in which they live in will question thier relationship, maybe even call it names because for them a nameless relationship between a man & a woman is considered scandalous regardless of it's purity. I am not in favour of child marriages, just that this track shouldn't have come now, maybe after leap it could have been shown that AniDita raised their voices against the evil practice together like the storyline is meant to be. I don't know how makers are going to deal with this but I hope that they keep in mind that they are making a period drama where some amount of historical facts are needed to be shown correctly. You cannot take so much of creative liberty that you distort historical facts, Sharda Act was passed in 1929, 9 years from the year Barrister Babu is set in. It is just my point of view. No need for rude comments. Thank you🙏

Pls don’t worry. Makers will be in more pressure than us. They also know how much backlashes they are facing from last month. Hope They will keep everything in mind. If Bonditha is targeted by society, will anirudh keep quiet. Definitely noooooo.....

The word Divorce is being added for extra drama.

Marriage getting annulled means their marriage was never valid and they just cease to exist as husband-wife. Divorce is separation of valid couples.

Also divorce is as per choice and optional whereas annulment is a law enforced thing.

Annulment is nullifying any marriage that is not as per the norms of the government of the country. Like if you do a court marriage or register your Hindu marriage today and do some error in paper work, the marriage registration done at that time is null and void and your are not legal husband and wife until you register the marriage again.

Not just age, marriages done when either person is not in right frame of mine, is under threat of life or intoxicated can be annulled if challenged in court.

I am only hoping they use this track to leverage Bondita leaving for Dalhousie and returning post-leap as a stronger and more aware woman because post-annulment it will be impossible for her to keep living with Roychowdhurys and continue education

Yes Ani will not keep quiet seeing Bon in pain but he will have no right to raise his voice...remember at the start when Ani saved Bon from sati & said he will take care of her, the people questioned him with what right will he do that. He's neither her father nor her brother & hence Ani had to marry her. To save her. But now, after they annul their marriage how will he save her??

And what irks me the most are two things: 1. Historical inaccuracy, creative liberty is fine but they should not distort history right?

2. We were always led to believe that AniDita are soulmates, their marriage is eternal & they are meant to be up untill the recent time where when Bon claimed Ani as her God shaadi shlok played in the background highlighting the pati patni aspect of their relationship & now with their marriage breaking, the main concept of the story i.e a husband fights the whole world to educate his wife & make her a barrister changes....this isn't done. If makers had planned this from the start then why did they lead us to believe differently?? We didn't ask them to do that.

I DO NOT support CHILD MARRIAGE...but these are some things I could not ignore...

Makers should clarify if they are annuling the marriage or AniDita is getting divorced & Bondita will leave for Dalhousie but after the Bon Maika drama with her Thakuma, Kakima & family & there won't be any leap anytime soon. They will stretch & drag this track on end.

Makers don't know anything about history.... they have proven it. So we should forget about a remarriage now, maybe after leap but not right now.

@Bold - Same here. We didn't ask them to show like that. Why were we made to believe something else and shown something else. Also, the crux of the show, a husband making his wife a barrister, while fighting against the norms goes for a toss.

But I think we should be a bit more patient to see how all of it unfolds. Channel, actors and makers are now hinting towards them only. We still have Thakuma to make an entry. It's not solely a marriage annulment or Dalhousie track. There is more to it and we should be keeping ourselves composed for that. Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. 👍🏼

yup but why did she agree with ani in the starting of ending this relationship ,i want to know the reason,is it because she wants to abide which i dont think so or she knows it will help her in guidance and bring a social reform,remember bon orayed durga maa and she became dtermined as he remembered anirudh explaining child marriages arew rong,regarding her experiences and decisions,it willcome later on her growing where she expains reason like ani does
