First, their marriage happened in very challenging circumstances - he still looks at it only through the lens of saving her from the atrocious social evil. Once she is capable of understanding what marriage is, then we will see a whole new equation between them at least from her end - how he'll react to that remains to be seen! Eventually he is going to come around though - it just takes time!
