I enjoy his company: Divyanka

Down-to-earth, soft spoken and bubbly, Bhopal girl Divyanka Tripathi doesn't believe in taxing her days by overwork.

While a lot of youngsters juggle two-three prime time shows, the petite youngster claims that she's happy doing one and has no intentions of even moving on to films immediately.

"I don't want to sign projects only for money," she points out. She claims to have been "offered several films". Given a chance, some day she'd like to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

We hear that her mom was upset recently about a death scene that Divyanka shot and wanted it done otherwise. She quickly corrects the misconception, "My mom has never interfered in my work. And neither me nor my mother are superstitious."

An Arts graduate, Divyanka has done her share of singing, dancing and riffle shooting before she joined television. Winning the Miss Bhopal 2002 was her ticket to TV. "I didn't want to be an actress. I never thought I was beautiful enough and could make it to the television industry," she says.

There has also been a spate of rumours about her close friendship with co-star Sharad Malhotra. So what's cooking there? "We are friends for the last four years and I enjoy his company. There are times when we fight like cats and dogs but that never shows on screen," avers Divyanka.

Has fame changed her though? "Yes, it has. Fame has made me more grounded and helped me become more mature. I have realised the difference between good and bad. I have started respecting goodness in people," she says.

There have been times when she walks down the street and people around her call her Vidya. Does she mind if people call her by her reel name? "I have no issues at all. My fans are giving me love in the way they want to. What they call me is of no consequence."

And finally, she does confess, that she's "seeing someone but I don't want to talk about him now." Watch this space for more.
