Situational background songs have become an integral part of daily soaps. We asked three of the top telly stars about their experience of shooting with background songs.
Saagar and Vidya (Banoo Main Teri Dulhann)
Romantic songs: Title song of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Bol Na Halke Halke, Main Agar Kahoon (OSO), Mujhe Haq Hai (Vivah)
Emotional Tracks: Jag Soona Soona (OSO), Hamesha Tumko Chaha Au... (Devdas)
Sharad says, "Till now there have been many. At the start of the show there was a song from Devdas - silsila yeh chahat ka, which is one of my favourites. Background songs are very important as they bring intensity in the scene which is naturally loved by the audience. In two weeks there will also be a famous song from OSO. Sometimes the songs are played on the sets also so naturally we love to hear such beautiful songs."
Jai & Bani (Kasamh Se)
Romantic Songs: Ya Rabba, Jiya Dhadak Dhadak…
Emotional Tracks: Suna Suna Lamha Lamha, Kora Kagaz, sad version of Chalte Chalte…
Prachi Desai (Bani) says, "All background songs have now become my favourite but still sometimes I get irritated when the same songs are repeated. I love the sad version of Suna Suna Lamha Lamha from Krishna Cottege though."
Mihir &Tulsi (Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahi Thi)
Romantic Song: Based on title of the show
Emotional Songs: Sad version of Tere Naam - Tere Naam Hamne Kiya Hai Jeevan Apna Sara Sanam, Yeh Jeevan Is Jeevan Ka…"
Ronit tells us, "There is not any particular song I love to listen as such. I didn't choose the background songs; it is the creative head's decision. The songs are based on situations and make the desired impact among the audience."
