Sagar looked quite content after hearing Vidya's bizarre
explanation. He actually believed it! "Then it's cool,
Vidya.. I was scared for a while there! Oh, and by the way,
you two make a great couple. 😉" he said.

Vidya shuddered at the very thought of it. "Me and... and
Tushar??! We make a... great couple? 😡" she said to
herself. "Oh, well thanks Sagar... we think we make a lovely
couple, too." she informed Sagar sarcastically as he was
leaving.

"Okay, catch you two later...." as he turned around to
leave, Sagar remembered something. "Say... are you two going
to the dance? I mean, like.. together? That would be so
cool. Cuz I'm thinking about asking... well, don't tell
anyone, but I'm thinking about asking Tina..... all four of
us could go, you know, like a double date. You two as one
couple, and Tina and me as the other couple."

"Tina?!?!??!"exclaimed Vidya. "How could you ask Tina,
when
I'm..." and she stopped right there. 'Oh... my... God... I
did not just mess up again.'

"Err... what I meant to say was... How could you ask Tina,
when I'm... umm, well, not around to give you advice? You
know, you need someone to give you advice on what girls like
and what they don't like..."

"Oh, that's true... anyway, Tushar and Vidya, are you two
coming to the dance?" interrogated Sagar.

Tushar linked arms with Vidya, pushed his glasses up, and
pulled his pants up even higher. "Of course we are. My
sweetheart and I wouldn't miss this dance for the world,
would we, honeybunch?" asked Tushar to Vidya.

'Ugh.. he's using nicknames? I mean, he was acting pretty
well in front of Sagar when he wasn't saying anything, but
now that he called me... umm, honeybunch and sweetheart, I
feel like gagging. Anyway..."

"Oh, yeah, we'd... love.. to go to the dance... with you
and.. umm.. Tina." Vidya said aloud.

"Great. It'll be fun. See ya there..." Sagar left for his
next class.

"Oh, Vidya." smiled Tushar, showing his braces. "I never
knew it.. you're so deeply in love with me?"

"Oh, come on Tushar! That was an act I was putting up for
Sagar. Great acting in front of him, though. 👏 Except
for the nicknames. Anyway, I'm trying to get him jealous. By
the way, we have to get you some new clothes if you're going
to go to the dance with me. You know, you're a complete
geek. But don't worry, I'm going to help make you better.
We're going to the mall tonight." responded Vidya.

Tushar stood there, his heart broken into a million tiny
little pieces... the love of his life had just hurt him in
so many ways: she had informed him that she was just using
him to get Sagar jealous, and she also called him a nerd....
what could be worse than all this?

Tushar tried to smile, but could barely form his lips into a
smile. "Sure... sure thing.. Vidya. I'll be happy to help you."
