Main Lead of Dulhann shocked the cast and crew when he refused to be a man

We've heard stars saying "Oh I'm completely a director's actor" but it seems the total opposite is happening on the sets of Dulhann. Sharad Malhotra who plays the mentally retarded Saagar in the show is refusing to grow up. His character was due to recover in March and the audience had their eyes peeled for this revelation. However as the preparations were in full force, the chocolate boy actor refused to let go off his much loved and adored character. The director had no choice but to prolong the process and now reportedly the big day will come in August (that too if the stubborn child allows).

The real Boss on the sets: Sharad Malhotra
When contacted, Sharad seemed far from worried.
"My character as the mentally challenged Saagar has gained me immense popularity and I do not think the audience is ready for a change as of yet. Even so, I am really enjoying playing this type of role and it is much different from the usal roles heroes get to play...I'm content"
What about the director?
"What can we do? Sharad has emerged as a popular face on television and now he doesn't want his real character to be shown, its shocking. The audience are eagerly awaiting the change but what can we do? Star ke nakhre sehne parte hai." answered the disappointed Pawan.
Well Sharad, all we can say is that its time you literally grew up, on-screen and off the screen too.
