The music of architecture
The Indian Institute of Architects organized Mukesh – RK to Big B, in a tribute to Mukesh - the musical legend, and a pillar of Indian music, following his birthday on July 22. Natural art lovers being artists themselves, architects hailed it as an intimate memory of a lifetime.
Online PR News – 29-July-2010 – Mukesh's phenomenon echoes in the infinite, global reverence… From Raj Kapoor to Amitabh Bachchan, from 'Zindagi kaisi hai paheli' to 'Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein This Friday, 23rd July - Mukesh came alive at Manik Sabhagraha, Bandra. In the voice of Babla Mehta –reputed as the 'living' voice of Mukesh.
Presented by DNA, the chief guest of the show was Ravi Kiran Agarwal, CMD, Orbit Corporation and an avid Mukesh fan. His wife reveals that he has every album of Mukesh in his collection; moreover, he can recite the lyrics of each Mukesh song.
RJ Anuraag Pandey and actor Suchitra Pillai built the perfect atmosphere and canvas for the intriguing nostalgia. From the melancholy experiences of the master to his sharp-subtle humour, they amplified his life and times…in their signature way. Among the lost in melodious trance were Rajeev Paul, Ayub Khan, Simple Kaul, Deepshikha, Rakesh Bedi, Aroon Bali, Ajay Gehi, Avtar Gill, Gautam Rode, Manoj Joshi, Shivaji Satham, Sharad Malhotra, Gargi Patel and The Celebrity Architect Prem Nath.
Earlier, skeptics questioned the tie between music and architecture. Forsaking the natural bond of art between the two artistic expressions from the heart. The success of the show and high celebrity quotient said it all. It became a festival of nostalgia for Mukesh fan-atics. The makers of monuments reveled in the echoes of the musical legend.
The show was sponsored by Structurati structural steel solutions, Marshalls wallpaper and Evernova Modular Kitchens.
