Vidya POV
I was quite nervous due to the fact that it's my first day on the job however I was thankful that I got a proper job that will make it possible for me to support Arun and me. I was called to go the boss's office and I was somewhat scared if you could say. I was hired by the father of my so called boss not by the boss or the owner or whatever you might call him. But as I was told by my other fellow peers that he wasn't the best man to be around, he was rude and inconsiderate and in his free time he would play on his iphone. Enough for me to hate him but I couldn't find a way out I'm kind of stuck with this job since no one else is hiring. I knocked on the door until I heard someone say something. I opened the door slowly but fast enough to see him sitting there on his big swivel chair and immediately I felt weak in my knees. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, Sagar was my boss. What if he asks me about Arun because he sort of knows and I kind of suspect that he heard everything from before. I kept my head low so that he wouldn't see my face but that didn't work for too long. "Vidya you're my new employee, take a seat let's talk" I nodded, this is what I most definitely did not want for to happen. I took a seat awkwardly avoiding to look his way. "So about Arun, you want to tell me the truth" he asked with his arms on the table with a serious look. I couldn't tell him the truth could I, no not at all. I'll just lie or something, but sooner or later he might find out and that's what I'm scared about. I got some courage for a sensible small lie "My dad died so I moved back and I met this girl who was a teenager around 16 who was having a baby but she had some complications in her pregnancy so she asked me to keep Arun" I lied to him making it sound as real as possible hoping that he would buy the story. "Then why did you lie at the party" he asked. "I didn't lie and Arjun said since I didn't know you and I didn't meet you after a long time you would judge and jump to different conclusions" I lied again. "That makes sense but why are you telling me now" I looked at him in the eyes for awhile then back down "I don't know because you kind of heard him yesterday and you asked for the truth and there was no point in lying, can I go now" I said excusing myself. "Sure" then I left his cabin as soon as I shut the door I let out a sigh and went back to my desk to do some work. Well that was a bit hard and easy at the same time. I sat down on my small chair and started going through some more documents.
I cleaned up my desk and got up as I heard someone call my name. "Vidya wait up, I need to talk to you" I turned around to see Sagar with a coffee in his hands. I nodded my head as I followed him into his cabin. He sat down as I took a seat myself as well. "I need your help and in return I'll give you anything you want" I laughed a bit. "Okay just tell me first and I'll decide" I said trying to be attentive to what he was saying. "So I'm 23 and my parents they want me to get married, but I don't, I mean I have a girlfriend Courtney but I'm not in love with her" somehow I felt good when he said he wasn't in love with her. "Then why are you wasting your time with her" I asked, it was a good question because Sagar became quiet. " Yeah well I'm dumping her, but listen my parents think that I can't date Indian girls so I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend for 2 weeks at a family reunion. The reason why is because I made a deal with my parents that If I get an Indian girlfriend then they can't get me married and if I don't by then, they'll choose my wife and I really need your help just please help me please say yes" he pleaded. I thought about it, I mean I had nothing to lose. "Can Arun come?" He nodded his head as a yes and I smiled. I don't know what I'm getting myself involved in but my heart says say yes. "Promotion" I said smiling and Sagar immediately understood that I had just agreed to his little conspiracy to fool his parents. Let's just hope everything goes fine and while we are there Sagar doesn't find out about Arun.
Not exactly long but just enough to give you the idea. C.C
