The following day Sagar was very nervous. But he and his parents had an agreement. And he was sure that Surili would pass this so called test.
He took his cellphone and called Surili:
-Hey jaanu, I was just thinking about you... She said
-Oh hi. Surili could you come to my house, now?
-What? Why? she said
-Please come, I want to tell you something important and I want my parents to be there too, he said
-You want to tell me something important, and that too infront of your parents? she said and thought what it could be. Then she thought maybe he was proposing to her. She got happy, finally!
-Hey jaanu, of course i will be there, I'll come in a hour ok? Bye love you, she said quickly and hung up.
After an hour Surili was standing in Sagars doorstep, dressed in a red short dress and all fixed-up. She had an evil smile on her face.
-Hi jaanu, she said and kissed him on his cheeks.
-Hi, he said with a low voice.
They went to the livingroom where both Uma and Raghav were sitting.
-Mom, Dad, I would like to marry Surili, I love her. Surili will you marry me? he said
Surili was smiling even more.
-O may God Sagar, you're so sweet. Of course I will marry you! Surili responded
-What? Sagar no, you can't marry her, Uma said with a dramatic voice.
-This is my choice, and I choose her
-Fine if that's your choice, then you will hear mine too. As long as you live under my roof, you have to follow my rules. And I say you cannot marry this girl today or any other day for that matter and that's it ! Raghav said with a loud angry voice.
-Fine then, I won't live under your roof. I'll leave !
Surili got shocked. What did he say? Oh no...
-Sagar, what are you saying? Calm down,,
-No Surili, enough is enough. If they don't agree on this marriage, then I don't care. I don't need them nor any of their money. All I need is you, you and me together right?
Surili was speachless. Oh God, what is this idiot doing? She didn't say anything.

Surili stood there completely shocked. Her planes were ruined. No money, no big house? Oh no !

-Are you blackmailing me? And that too with only one lakh? I know what you're worth, make me a bigger offer! Surili frowned and said.
-Fine two lakh, take it or leave it, Raghav said with an angry voice.
-I'll take it, she said quickly and was happy. Oh well at least she got 2 lakh out of this idiotic relationship with Sagar, she thought to herself.
Raghav wrote her a check and was about to give it to her, but then someone elses hand reached the check before Surili could take it. It was sagars hand.
-J..Jaanu?
He took the check and tored it in pieces.
-How dare you Surili? I trusted you! I loved you!
-This isn't what it seems, your father was...
-Stop it ! I know everything now. This all was a plan, to see whether you would stay with me or escape with the money. And I was so stupid to think that you would choose me. Everyone told me not to trust you, but I didn't care. I ... Sagar got all teared up.
-Oh please, stop it with all the drama. You're so serious all the time and have to be the biggest idiot I have met. You truly believed in me everytime I lied to you, even when you caught me I got away by telling you something else and you belived in it. But I put up with you since you...
-Stop it ! I am disgusted, you are the worst person I have met in my life. You should be ashamed of yourself. Now leave. NOW!! He said with an angry voice.
-My pleasure, finally ! Surili said and left quickly.
Sagar stood there, in the middle of the livingroom, and had tears in his eyes. He couldn't believe what just happened. All the lies, the fakeness, everything. He had wasted 5 months of his life, on her. That evil girl. How could she?
-Beta, Uma said and put her hand on his shoulder.
Sagar hugged her.
-I'm so sorry mom, I didn't knew...
-Just be quiet now, don't worry. All your father and I wanted was for you to be happy, She said and tried to calm him down.
Sagar went to his dad and apologized.
-I am so sorry dad. I'm truly sorry...
-Yes I know. I am sorry too. But you know our agreement.
-Yes, I know. I will do whatever you two have planned for me and marry whom ever you choose. It doesn't matter for me anymore, he said with a lifeless voice.
-This is what's best for you, we wouldn't have agreed on this marriage if we knew the girl wasn't right for you. This girl will make you laugh and love again, you will be happy with her. And you even already know her, so it won't be awkward either, Raghav told Sagar.
-Who is it? Sagar asked
-Vidya, Raghav said and smiled.
-Vidya? But... Sagar objected
-No buts, it's Vidya! Now if Vidya agrees to this marriage, then it's final. However if she doesn't, then we will not force her neither will her parents. So don't object now... Raghav said
-Ok, Sagar said
-What? Raghav said and was shocked. Did Sagar just say Okay?
-Ok, I agree. But if Vidya says no, then it means no, Sagar told his father.
-Yes. Wow beta I'm so proud of you, you're finally growing up and acting like an adult. Now me and your mother have to go now. I think Jaidev will tell Vidya about this today. And if Vidya agrees, then after 2 months when the two of you have graduated, we will get you married...
-However if Vidya says no today, it means no... Sagar said.
-Yes. Now we have to go now, but take care of yourself. You should stay at home today, Raghav said
-I will, goodbye, Sagar said.
-Goodbye beta, both Uma & Raghav said.
Sagar couldn't believe that his parents chose Vidya for him ! But actually, he wasn't too surprised either. They really loved Vidya and saw her as their daughter. And yes, she was a very nice girl but a wife? No way! He can't imagine the two of them toghether, that would be weird. Oh well, no need to worry. The marriage won't happen, so that's relieving. Even though I had to say yes, doesn't mean Vidya has to. She has a choice. And of course she will say no. She has a boyfriend and I am sure she will say no to marriage. So no need to worry, Sagar thought to himself.
All I have to do is to wait for the night, when Vidyas parents asks her for the marriage, and for her to say no. Then they will tell my parents, and they will tell me. And then I can say, it's okay but maybe I should focus on my studies and then work instead of marriage. And of course, dad will agree. And that's that of Sagars so called marriage.
