I don't think Santu was being hard on Monghi at all. She just wanted her sister to open her eyes to the happenings in the outside world. She was merely donning the responsibility of a mother and elder sister. In Santu's POV, Birwa and Sarang have no problem between themselves and she wants to remove all the possible thorns that might creep up in her daughter's marriage at a very early stage. Santu was perfect.

She might not be the villain but she sure is stupid, she can't see whats staring her right in the face and she is going to pay for her stupidity big time......if she beleives Sarang is in love with her, then doesn't she think he should come clean with his family about where his affections lie rather than relying on Birwa to say no to the alliance, why doesn't she ask Sarang why he can't refuse to the alliance and tell his family and even DM what his feelings are......DM is a fair man, he won't force Sarang to marry Birwa if he loves Moonghi, he is fond of Moonghi too......didn't he ask Sarang himself if he wanted to marry Birwa, so why didn't he refuse? Why doesn't she question Sarang's motives and question him that why isn't he being open and honest about their relationship?
