Everyone is disgusted at Santu for having pointed a finger at DM, for all of 2 seconds. And yet it is acceptable for DM to point his fingers at her?? And that at too for the duration of a couple of sentences??
I'm sorry but frankly that's just hypocracy. If it's rude for Santu to do it, then it's equally rude for DM too. Santu was quite far from him when she barely raised her finger and was cut short by Hiten. DM was only a few feet away and effectively wagging his in her face!!
Good manners and etiquette applies to everyone. Not only that, but everyone seems to have forgotten just how awful DM's behaviour has been towards Santu in the past. He has shouted, screamed, grabbed and humiliated her countless times. So what Santu did yesterday, although not desirable, was tame in comparison to DM. While I agree that bad behaviour from one person shouldn't excuse bad behaviour from another, it is human to err. We have all been there at some point, against our better judgement. It is the result of a moment of madness, forgetfulness, rashness or weakness, call it what you will.
Someone said earlier that they wouldn't care if DM slapped Santu. Well I'd care. That kind of behaviour is just one step away from domestic violence. In the real world, most often this is how domestic violence starts, with a slap or a smack here and there. And before you know it the woman (and occasionally the man) in question is being beaten black and blue.
Everyone in these serials seem to be a little too slap-happy . These CV's have serious issues. I wonder if they were potty trained at gunpoint or something when they were babies?
I never agreed when DM did it, and I'm not condoning Santu's behaviour either. I'm merely pointing out that this is her first 'proper' confrontation with DM and given the setting within which it took place, her attitude was justified. It's about time DM got a taste of his own medicine.
She told him a few home truths that he needed to hear. Effectively, what she said was that he's a hypocrite, and I damn well agree. He goes on about being malik, and yet has done sod all these last ten years. He harps on about having no relations with anyone, and yet is quick to jump to the family's defence against Santu. He's being a complete prat, and he needed to be told.
Husbands and wives lose their temper with each other all the time. It's natural and normal. I've had an issue with the attitude Santu has at times adopted, but yesterday was one instance when I think it was completely justified. It would be unrealistic to expect her to always remain calm in the face of such stupidity and blind-foolishness.
Hiten's behaviour on the other hand is just out and out wrong, and the less said about it the better.
