Controversy over age

Hello All,
Since the serial has started i have read a lot of ppl adding comments on santo's age and her marriage with a much elder man. Understandably in the modern cities this is much frowned upon but the reality of India especially in rural india even in this day and age, this still does happen where an older man gets married to a much younger woman for several reasons whether right or wrong.
This has also been potrayed in bollywood. If some of you might remember the movie 'Waaris' that had Smita patil, amrita bajaj and how smita patil got her sister, amrita bajaj married to her own father-in-law. [And this story of waaris is actually a real story as well]
The point is, maybe Tv or movies show it a bit over the top but reality is it happens in india just not heard so much of in the cities. And we all who do not live in the villages have no clue what goes on there.
This is not to dis-respect all the folks adding their comments against this concept its just a gentle observation. At the same time none of what i say means that i agree with this huge age barrier.
I do feel its a lovely serial and people should enjoy the beautiful way a relationship between two individuals who were forced to come together through circumstances, how well their love and respect for each other develops.

Very well said Roma...although I wouldn't advocate marriages with such age differences but this show does not deal with the marriage itself...that we all agree was unfortunate...but how these two individuals who did not want to be married to each other in the first place come together and become soulmates. It's the whole journey of their relationship from fear to acceptance to understanding to love that makes this show so great.

Roma, what you said is so true! This show is more about the development of love and relationship more than age difference. When I am watching the show, the age doesn't even come to my mind, but that could be because RR is a handsome gentleman😉😆 But anyway, I wouldn't recommend this age difference in real life.

There should not be a problem/controversy regarding age difference....coz the very essence of the story is their age difference ...how these two who were total strangers united in a wedded lock and how they come over or rather break the barrier of age difference to come closer with each other and eventually become soulmates is the base of this story........ and i must say that they have shown it in a great way.....

I think I have posted abt this b4 older men and younger women scenario is still as common as the flu.

although i wouldent recommend marriage that has a huge age gap to anyone, but i would still like comment, thats its all in the mind and how mature a person is, for example if you live your life always wanting a partener that only a few years older and spend most of your time arround yougsters, than its harder for you to accept, but if you live with the menatily that at the end of the day age is jsut a number, and agree to the fact that a marriage/relationship is much stronger and more valued then the age difference thats there, and besides every marriage comes with compramises the differeces that age brings may be one!😉

Thank you for all your comments. I'm glad that you'll appreciate the serial in the same manner that I do. Its just after reading a few comments in relation to this age issue that compelled me to add my comment on.

I really enjoy this serial. I would say a lot of it goes to the lovely acting these actors are doing in this show that has gripped us all to it.

I would also like to add that along with this show i really enjoy reading all the lovely and some really genuinely😊 funny comments on here added by everyone
