Not that I even blame them for running in the first place. Khemi was being guarded, DM had men looking out for Hiten and no one was listening. If they didn't run, Khemi & Sambu would have been forced into an unwanted marriage. What DM & Santo should have done if they are the supposed wise heads of the village was call of Shambu-Khemi's wedding and then tried to reason with Hiten & her. But with the insistence that Khemi & Shambu get married that very day, they pushed every one into a desperate situation. First of all what gives anyone the right to force two people into a marriage they don't want? Everyone's goes on about society and family but what about society and family respecting an individual's rights???

No, they are still coward and selfish because of how they went about it. Their characters would have been somewhat redeemed if they had not run away, but if Hiten had come before the villagers and proclaimed his love for Khemi BEFORE being kidnapped by AC. Shambhu wouldn't have married her if Hiten had told the villagers he loved her, the wedding would have stopped, so why elope? Being forced to confront the villagers because of AC, does not redeem them. What if they had not been kidnapped by AC, weren't they ready to get married in the temple on the sly? Nothing in my eyes justifies their elopement and bringing about shame to their families.

Were they really expecting anyone to listen to them when they were forced to proclaim their love for each other a day before the wedding, a wedding that Khemi had agreed to and Hiten had given his blessing to. What fickleness? What naivety? It's not like DM pre-poned the wedding after knowing about Hit-Mi, the wedding had already been planned and was going on as scheduled. I think Hit-Mi were responsible for the way things turned out, they are to blame, no one else, they should be held accountable for what they did. They are adults, they should have behaved more maturely. Had they proclaimed their love voluntarily before the whole wedding drama and then had DM-Santo forced Khemi to marry someone else and not tried to reason with Hit-Mi, then I would have found fault with them?
