About the character: Bandini is the story of eighteen-year-old Santo, played by Asiya Qazi. Santo is an illiterate and from a lower caste. She is married to Dharamraj Mahiyanshi, a fifty-year-old widower with five children. Santo's journey towards marital happiness, crossing barriers of age, caste and class and the various prisons that shackle her makes her one of the prominent bahus of the small screen.
