Rasika,

NO one comes close to the khuda ki awaaz .. Mohd. Rafi ..
I will die the day someone betters him at

Ehsaan tera hoga mujh par
Dil chahta hai
woh kehne do

Mujhe tum se mohabbat ho gayi hai
Mujhe palko ki chao me rehne do

😳

Sorry... the tele-veteran title comes to me! Though, I now am beginning to wonder if I should share that with Usha😊

Usha, you have seen Farmaish, Udaan and Imtihaan? I did not raise the name of any of those serials from the golden age of Indian television, because it would immediately give away my years on this planet😆 But now, I seem to have company!

Oh Sukhi... you have no idea... There were some very nice serials a long long time ago on TV, when you were not even born! They had what Bandini has -good story, actors, dialogue...

Like- Buniyaad (a very young Alok Nath, a strong performance from Kanwaljeet Singh), Jeevan Rekha, Upasana (Shekhar Kapur was smashing), Khoj (I think... David Dhawan and Kitu Gidwani), Mujrim Haazir Ho (the hero was very handsome), Gul Gulshan Gulfam (the youngest son in that family was handsome, and excellent performance by Pariskit Sahani)... to mention a few...

The production values were not good. People didn't dress glamorously but the stories had stuff.

Which is why, after eons, and completely giving up on Hindi TV serials, I am so grateful to Bandini for entertaining just like those shows!

Forgive me young ones for going on my own khayali pulav of a different sort... Now back to you😊

Rasika :

One more treat for you -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GMI6s54v5I

And hey I never talked about the golden age on TV .. the DD times ..
I know those shows like Hum ,Log and Buniyaad were just GEMS in their own rights and Bandini does not stand in comparison .. just talking about the recent released shows yaar ..

Heck even Balika Vadhu is SO preachy!

Sheesh

LOL just kidding ..

The best thing is that Bandini does not remind me, of any other show
because at the same time Bandini has innocence and freshness and YET it is powerful and gripping for such a serious subject!!!

i sure am Sukhi😆😆.....

for me bandini reminds me that with endless shows and channels.....a good story can recreate and reminscence us the magic from good old DD days😳😳......

Ah... that song from Junglee is just superb...

Ek idea... How about starting a thread where we discuss songs to be played at SanRaj scenes?

You know, I wish radio was a character in Bandini, instead of that CD and that Subhi song! What if DM had the habit of listening to radio at night, since Subhi days? And every night, depending on the mood of the episode, a suitable song should play on the radio...

What do you think?

My favorite Rafi number- well, one of my favorites- Aaj Mausam from Loafer. You can hear Rafi's emotions in his throat!

Then the song 'paon choo lene do' from Taj Mahal!
