Welcome to the Bandini forum. I think that there is a slight case of monstrous misconception on your part here. I would like to clarify that and thus, hope to make your experience in this forum more enjoyable. Who said DM and Santu is like Jai and Bani? Martians and faltoo 3rd rate reporters! The concept of age and status difference between the lead pair was used by Ekta long before the advent of Jai and Bani. In fact, the concept of peppery haired dashing business tycoon was 1st used with Rishabh Bajaj and Jai Walia for me is a rather pitiful version of RB. Now, don't get me wrong, I was a huge fan of Jai Walia once when I didn't know about Jai Walia being a pathetic attempt at Xeroxing. During the Aparajet Deb track (I hated AD at that time I remember), I was asked to look at the original version from whom Jai Walia was cloned and thus, I found Rishabh Bajaj and AD being RISHABH BAJAJ. So, hopefully I got that misconception cleared. No one in their right mind and with correct knowledge would compare Jai and Bani with DM and Santu, its ludicrously hilarious. Clones and not made from clones you know....
AH HA! You seem to have another misconception. Now just how did you arrive to the conclusion that there should be passion between DM and Santu from word go? Its just a innocent question and nothing more. Who said that? Interpretion of passion is diff for diff people, you saw intense passion between Jai Walia and Bani and when I gave up on Kasam Se, I only saw clenched teeth from Jai Walia and vacant stares from Bani as an expression of their passion. DM and Santu got married at DM's will (something he didn't want but had to do for his own purpose). DM doesn't have either hatred or passion for her, why would he? He doesn't feel anything for her yet. He is a fair man from what we have seen so far. Passion between DM and Santu doesn't come in the equation yet because it has been made crystal clear that DM still loves his dead wife. Now, Jai Walia would hate Bani and that was inevitable, because, Bani was after all the sister of the girl who jilted him at the mandap na? So, for jilting reasons Jai Walia had his supposed passion for Bani through hatred. For me personally, even though passion is not written in the books between DM and Santu yet, I still feel amazing undercurrent between these two. DM's manliness and Santu's innocence belongs to just another level.
You feel that there is only paternal vibes between DM and Santu, surprisingly; I felt that about Jai Walia and Bani by the end of Aparajit Deb track. The man I once liked so much looked more mature then Bani's father even (yuck 🤢). Jai Walia's personality along with other very avoidable factors totally made me feel like he was Bani's old daddy (yuck 🤢). Maybe, deep down Jai Walia with all his passion for Bani wasn't able to create in me the correct image of a MAN.
Everyone form their own opinion and thats the way it should be, but, opinions should be made on the basis on correct information. That way we all can peacefully enjoy the forum. Bandini is a character driven show with a superb story and cast. Its not a rehased stale version of Ekta's old formula. Kasam is a sad copy of Kasauti Zindegi ki, in its main lead (male), his peppery hair, his status and the age difference between the male and female leads. If Ekta went down the copying route, she would have chosen Kasauti Zindegi ki and not its sorry clone.
Kasam Se, Jai Walia and Bani was a chapter totally trashed in my mind, cause they are not worth my time and thought. Just for the sake of politeness I had to dig them out from the 'horrible mistakes part of my memory' and talk about them.
Anyhoo, welcome to our forum.
PS: I have already seen and do hope to see more passion and I am sure DM won't dissapoint. Like I mentioned earlier, passion can be expressed in different ways - one can trust, respect, understand, support...and do many more things with great passion and intensity. Edited by ~Wicked~ - 16 years ago
