Ronit Roy has been through difficult times and survived it all. Even after successive attempts, the actor couldn't make it big in the film industry. But so resolute was he on becoming a successful actor that he took up small-screen acting and emerged as a television icon. Ronit, an Amdavadi, was back in the city recently and this time as an established television actor with hands full.
"It feels great to be back in the city where I spent my childhood. I still remember hanging out at Municipal market in the evening. I have a lot of friends here and I visit them whenever I'm in town," says Ronit, who was a student of St Xavier's, Loyola Hall and completed his polytechnic engineering course at MS University, Vadodara.
Ronit always had a strong foothold on every character he played; be it Rishabh in Kasauti Zindagi Kay or Mihir Virani in KSBKBT. He also bagged accolades for his performance in the newly launched soap, Bandini. Quiz him how he handles the image makeover so frequently, and he candidly replies, "For an actor it's not only important to resemble the character in appearance, but also to get into the role completely. I even grew my moustache to make my character more realistic."
The actor had quite a few encounters with reality shows like Jhalak Dikhla Ja and Yeh Hai Jalwa. But is he ready for something like Bigg Boss? "I would love to spend time with strangers and live like a primitive man, away from gizmos. But I avoid it because I cannot stay away from my family",he signs off..
