I am a day late, but such was the impact of watching the 26th January episode that I had to write something!

First, RR...Good god, the man has a stremendous screen-presence!
Secondly, I am rapidly disbeliveing the fact that Bandini is an Ekta Kapoor Presentation! The serial is just too different from all her previous works, am unable to understand how she and Balaji Telefilms could make such a drastic break with the past!
Thirdly, must commend on the peripheral actors that are joining Bandini day by day! Next to Nanaji, Pinakin and Virat Sanghvi, I will add the actor who plays Guruji too! The guy was good!
Overall, it was a mind-blowing episode! The high-point of the episode being DR's conversation with his dead wife...it was such an emotional scene and the beauty of it was that RR portrayed the anguish of a man still in love with his wife with a lot of pathos and dignity! The liberal gujrati dialouges sprinkled in between was just perfect for the situation...and very natural, considering that DR would be speaking in his native tounge with his wife!
Also, the scene where DR and Virat have a confrontation telephonically was a very well directed scene. I just love the fact that DR is so icy cool and controls his emotions so strongly.
Even the last scene where Guruji tells DR that he has to get married in order to avoid calamities in his life was done extremely well! DR's reaction to the bombshell was so un-Balaji like! No lound gongs, no flashing lights, no camera panning on everyone's face and no unnecessary dramatics from the man himself! Yet, you could see the shock and anger on DR's face.
It was Ronit Roy all the way in this episode! At times, I forgot the actor in him and only saw Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi, the diamond merchant! A very powerful yet understated performance!
Coming back to the others, agreed that Aasiya is not the usual pretty young thing that Balaji Heroines usually are, but she does suit the role very well. Her dialouge delivery still needs oodles of improvement, otherwise she is quite ok! The elder sister (very pretty girl) and Nanaji were excellent!
I could read from the update for 27 January, that there was no DR in the episode, hence my lack of enthusiasm in watching it....(Sukhi, thanks for the update, btw!) and hope that he makes his majestic appearance today! Am seriously impressed by RR and Bandini and after a long time, actually look forward to watching a soap, even if it is only on the Net!
Thanks!

Wonderful analysis of the episode, Soapie.

I agree with what you have written about Aasiya - she needs to improve her dialogue delivery. The Guruji character was also nice - not the ponga pundit types but a person who knows what he is talking about otherwise a person like DM would never give him the time of the day.

I did watch the episode of the 27th. It was nice even though there was no DM. It focused on developing Santu's character a little more and pushing the track towards the DM-Santu marraige.

Looking forward to reading more such in depth analysis from your end.

Ok now I am OFFICIALLY back with my comments Soapie ..

For me, the best part of this episode was the first scene - DM conversing with his dead wife as if she was really present in the room .. it was really heart-touching .. especially when he compared his sadu bhai's love for his diamonds and he called his wife his koh-i-noor ...

It was very touching to say the least .. I could see his eyes going soft when he talked to his wife .. asked her how she was .. told her he was worried .. it was so heart-to-heart .. really - this guy makes me forget that he is NOT really DM ! Great going Ronit!
