I have finished watching DM, I mean last nights marriage episode of Bandini. Here are my thoughts about him:
The 1st thing I noticed was his voice, he made DM's voice very deep. I have heard his voice as RISH, BABZ, AD and Bheeshma. He had made each of his character's voice different. Just listen to BABZ and listen to DM yesterday, they are poles apart. DM's voice was a bit like Bheeshma's, very deep and serious, but, DM's voice is laced with arrogance, Bheeshma's wasn't. DM's voice is so deep, that part of the sentences that he uttered, went into a strong whisper. I loved this very authoritative whisper .... making his baritone much more attractive. I love his diction as well, because it so pure and clear, its like looking through crystal clear water and being able to see the minutest detail within. I know its a weird comparison, but, when I hear his very clear pronunciations, it feels like each of his words are being seared in my brain.
I loved the part where he walked away from Pinakin and the Guruji. I always admired his walk, his very masculine strides. His whole posture, his entire body language while walking exudes power and manliness. He makes the simple act of walking beautiful, even breath taking - one is compelled to sit up, look, and admire, be it his brisk walks (I have seen so many done by RISH) or his very purposeful confident strides (like DM's walk yesterday and also RISH's and Bheeshma's).
His attitude during the wedding - WOW. He didn't show any type of negative emotion throughout the entire event. He didn't frown, he didn't narrow his eyes in irritation, he didn't hurry things up.....he had a almost serene expression on his face throughout. What showed his disinterest and his utter reluctance of being there were, his eyes, which were distant and aloof, not looking at Santo even when he was tying the mangalsutra and his averted face when she put the garland on him. He was a through gentleman throughout the ceremony and showed his unwillingness quite subtly. After the wedding was over, he said what he had to say, dropped the garland and walked away without even bothering to take the piece of cloth that was on his shoulder. This last act screamed out his sheer disdain amazingly. I don't know how many times I have said this, I think hundreds, I LOVE RR's subtle and understated acting - for me its spell bounding. AND INTENSITY, well, I agree with him, DM's character is all about intensity. I keep thinking about the passion of such an intense man. Just how deep will his passion run! Dunno, will wait from him to show us.
RR makes me forget the fact that I am watching an actor every time I watch one of his characters. The only time I remember is, when I see on him something that only belongs to RR and not the character. In yesterdays wedding ceremony, when Santo put her hand in his, I smiled, for there they were, his square ring and his bracelet on his right hand. I love those two objects a lot, they remind me of RISH, BABZ and of course, RR.
Enough of my babble, now I am off.
