Gosh Tickly, DM is not an abuser as such. He is a reasonable man...most of the times 😉.

Remember he told Moti off when he thought he got on Santo's case for no reason at all.

These finger marks thing is because he does not know the reason behind her wearing Subhi's clothes. His getting upset/angry over it is expected. Infact, you seek understanding from Surekha and Hiten but both have already mentioned their shock and being displeased at seeing her in Subhi's clothes. So no help there.

Help will come when DM finds out who gave her the clothes and jewelry and he will get on Moti's case once again. 2 or 3 of those events and next time he will raise an eyebrow at Moti before accusing Santo. You watch!

He is definitely dedicating that award to his dead wife. But everyone are such duffers including Hiten that they will assume he means Santo, look at his reaction he breaks his glass. Only Santo is smart enough to realize when he says Pathni who DM is talking about.

You know what I would love to see even more, DM clarifying to Santo afterwards that he meant Subhi, and Santo should look DM straight in the eye not scared and tell him straight to his face that she perfectly understood what he meant and she is not such a fool as he supposedly makes her to be. Now that would shut DM up and actually consider his wife does a brain of her own.

Your right when he realises she's not bothered and she knew it was for subhi anyway he might get uncomfortable thinking that Santos not right bothered about an award or him and might start to want some sort of attention from her.

Another trait I personally find admirable in Santo is that after post marriage she hasn't sat in one corner and cried about her fate being married to a man so old with so many bachaas. She has shed tears but that is over abuse of Motti Behn. I mean we all can see how oh so attractive DM is, but that is besides the point, for no practical reasons would a girl of Santo's age would ever want or desire to be married to a man so old and so dominating. You have to give her full marks for not complaining about it, she has taken it in strides that shows some great inner strength and perserverence.

So true Mara. The day she went back home for pag phere, she mentioned to Khemi how her life just changed in one day. She felt all grown up. LOL...she hadn't even met the kids then!

She is definitely a strong woman. And she holds up very well despite all the torture and hatred she has had to put up with

Bandini!! An overview from kooldesi_fum

The show started on very good notes.. considering it is from the Balaji camp. No loud music, no loud makeup, No plastic surgeries, No rebirths and so on..... and obviously no Zoom in and out.... AND!! AND !! IT DOES NOT START WITH K!!!!!

It is believed that this show is borrowed from a popular Gujrati novel. Since I have not read the novel I don't know the differences and similarities between the novel and the show.. But one thing is clear that ekta is trying hard to shed the K! image (I am assuming this is after her serials got bashed up @ star plus). And also to note is the fact that the story is actually moving at a good speed rather than the usual pace whr they show each scenario for months and months (eg. the story of nanji, and then shashank, then V-rat, Jaggu and the marriage) even after marriage there seems to be quite a decent speed for the progress. Matlab they did not spend just one week trying to show the reactions of the family and moti ben and moved it qucikly...

they have done a good job at selecting the actors for the roles.. starting with RR, no need to say anythin about his actin , then Asiya, she has done a fabulous job in the past one month despite having very few dialogues, Nanaj- is another actor who has carried the emotions effortlessly without compromising on the quality; Khemi & Mongi - another duo which is fitting well with the charcters; (won't write much bout them, b'coz thr r already many threads regarding them)

Now Virat- Kudos! has done a gud job despite being the villain and also portrayed the character strongly...
Surekha- gud acting despite knowing that Santo is her sister's saut..

Moti Ben- another gud actor without being too loud on emotions.... could be improved by changing the makeup and some other mnor things like accent and prononciation...
Baa & Bapuji- Gud jodi and good humour in between the serious scenes.... Bapuji can be made more strong by being in favor of santo... (they r already showin tht he is dev soft corner for santo) and explainin DM ...

The kids-- I think Ekta has tried to kick in the old formula of havin many kids... u know like Kyunki and Kahani Ghar .... and other K Serials... I think this can be a negative point since the gap between the kids is too large (the 1st one being 23 yrs and the last one about 10-12 yrs)... so i am guessing tht kohinoor must have died recently (although if suraj is 10-12 yrs old she could have died then also) but let's see wht ekta has in store for us on tht part....
Birwa and Suraj are cute , they r stilll kids to understand wht is actuallly happenin....
Moulik and K-bari are just acting as fillers without any special characters and any special significance..

Hiten: just like his father, very arrogant and very strong on emotions... gud charc.... But again ekta has tried to rope in some old stuff by showin tht there is father-son rivalry.... and good personality as well..
he has the potential to be a bridge between santo & Dm.. he should have finished college by now(assuming he is 23) so i think either he shoould be shown as goin for a MBA or he should start his own business or he should work or somethin like dat... this will boost his charcter and also gain trps...
in fact i mentioned in my earlier posts tht he should be named as DM Jr.

I also feel that ekta could have done with 3 kids instead of 5... (one of K-bari or moulek and one of suraj and birwa could have been avoided)
this would have portrayed a better pic of the family..

jaggu and pinakin are also eqully gud in comparison to other memers...

however thre are some points which make the show a unique frm other saas bahu sagas..

1) no rona thona, saas bahu rivalry, or unnecessary cryin and loud makeup...and no hindi movie songs in background(somethin originl)
2) orginal gao ki setting and not some crap like big mansions and heavy costumes...
3) the gujju in between to make it more authentic.....
4) no evil bhabhis and evil plans to kill for property, land and assets...
5) no over doing the dialogues and sounding like a quote book... dialogues are original and elegant yet simple...
6) no destiny bashing and no blamig GOD for the happenings in life...
7) no unwanted tu tu main main among characters and no sterotyping any charcter and culture...
8) no trendy fashion traits and costly saris and lehangas...
9) not showing the characters as extreme.... (either very affectionate or very rude) exceptions r always thr...
10) the actors chosen for portrayin the roles...

things which ekta can work on and try to improve on and some similarities btween bandini & K! serials...

1) some bloopers which tend to creep in alomost every episode... like on 26 fen wht happend to baa... she was not watchin dm on tv...and DM Jr. fighting with the photographer
2) typical dresses for each charcter whether sleepin, eatin, walkin, or evn partyin.... like V-rat wearin white on all ocassions.... ekta I tell u that in real life people don't always wear the same clothes day & nite...:)
3) although I mentioned gujju as a + pt. it would better if ekta could provide us with subtitles as this is telecast nationally and many people r not familair with gujju... and as the serial progresses the gujju seems to be gettin complicated...
4) they have started to zoom in the faces frm the last 2-3 episodes.... this is startin to become like K!
5) the story has started to become predicted.... like the scne whr DM Jr. slaps Jaggu and the speech and the story when DM Jr. leaves home and does not take K-bari... and many more instances... i am sure when the story started thr were many surprises... ekta the audience like surprises....
6) deviation frm the main plot... of bandini... eg. the prime focus should be the story of DM & santo... although sometimes u do require other plots but not all the time.... to progress with the story.... eg. gettin other charc to get santo and DM close...and remove the misunderstndings....

I think I'll stop here as it would not be fair for me to showcase the negative points of this wonderful serial...

another thing is that ekta should get more dialogues for santo as her voice is really childish and tht makes it another + pt(b'coz of the age diff btween santo & Dm)
