The police tells Mahesh that he will have to go with them to police station. Mahesh tells that he is ready to go and he is not afraid of anything. Prabha asks if they are arresting him. The police tells VR that he will have to go with them. Mahesh tells Prabha not to let Darpan know about this.
Darpan comes in the living area and finds everyone missing. Darpan comes out of the house and sees Mahesh leaving. She asks Prabha where he is going. Prabha tells Darpan that the idol broke and he went to buy a new one. Prabha tells Darpan to have dinner. She tells that on Diwali everyone eats together and she will tell Ganesh to control his hunger for some time.
At the police station the police asks Dev if he said everything true about VR. Mahesh tells Dev not to be afraid. Dev tells that he gave the signature.
VR tells Dev that he betrayed him by testifying against him. Mahesh tells that the real culprit is VR and he can be arrested now. VR tells that he didn't do anything. The police proceeds to arrest him but Dev tells them to stop. He asks the police why they are arresting the wrong man when the real culprit is Mahesh. Dev tells that Mahesh made him sign the papers by beating him. Mahesh tells that Dev is lying.
Darpan tells Ganesh that her father will come home soon and she will tell him to bring a moon for him. Basant asks if he will serve food. Darpan tells that she won't eat unless her father is back. She tells Prabha to call Mahesh.
Mahesh tells Dev not to be afraid of VR. Dev tells that Mahesh will beat him again. Mahesh tells that he didn't beat him. VR tells that he knows Mahesh can't beat his brother and Dev is lying. The police asks Gaikwande if any other policeman was present there. Gaikwande tells that there was no one else present. The police inspector tells Mahesh that his department will start enquiry against him and he will have to stay in the lock-up that day.
Gaikwande tells Prabha that the police arrested Mahesh and he will have to stay in lock-up that day. He says sorry as he couldn't do anything. Darpan asks Prabha when he will return.
Prabha pretends to talk to Mahesh and tells that she will explain Darpan and Ganesh. She tells Darpan that Mahesh told them to eat after celebrating Diwali as he will get late. Darpan asks how she can celebrate Diwali without her father. Prabha tells that Ganesh is still a baby and he won't eat if she doesn't. She tells Darpan to serve food and they will eat after celebrating Diwali. Darpan tells Prabha that Mahesh may return by then.
Darpan is eating her food. Mahesh is inside the lock-up and food is served to him. Darpan goes to sleep.
VR comes inside the lock-up and asks what he is eating when everyone is having feast as his brother got freed. He tells Mahesh that he must be thinking why Dev changed his testimony. He tells Mahesh that he sent a letter for him in jail.
