To ALL members of the Balika Vadhu forum,

Time and again the Development Team has to step in to remind members that this forum is a platform for healthy discussions and not fan group or AT wars. Everyone visiting this forum is pretty much fed up of the everyday drama that takes place here simply because a few members do not know how to hold back and seem to like instigating each other into a fight so that either one is blamed and penalised.

It's about time a strict warning be posted with respect to the recent activities going on in the forum. Hence I would like to officially announce the following rules (effective today), which if violated, will result into direct raise of warning level without any discretion for questions or discussions.

* * * * *

Fan Group Wars

Members are reminded to respect each other's views as favourites differ from people to people and members need not to engage in any demeaning activities to prove point that their favourites are better than others' favourite. In any discussions, members should know where to draw a limit and not make posts to stereotype fan groups, make posts just to rile up the other fan groups or engage in any bashing for a tit-for-tat reply. For example: Fan group X always starts fights and they expect us to take it silently or Fan group Y always make a ruckus when things don't go their own way or Fan group Z think they are better then us etc. Comments like these will only lead to escalating arguments, therefore it is for the betterment of the forum that members refrain from making any such assumptions. Remember both hands are needed to clap and if you instigate a fight, then you are equally responsible for the outcome. Mocking a character, instigating that character's fans to come for defence of their favourite and then backing out of your initial move, this trick will not take you anywhere. Everyone involved will be penalised.

Everyone here is free to like whoever they want. No one would dictate and decide who should one like. Its member's prerogative on who they support. Passing remarks to malign a fan group or stereotyping the supporters is not allowed and this has been explicitly stated in the forum rules. Do not assume that members are liking one pair/character because they hate another. STOP judging or deciding the reason behind a person liking a character/pair. You ship the character you like and others ship the character they like. Everyone shall sail their own boat without the need of inserting unwanted hatred.

It was often noted that in the bid to make one couple look good, another couple is mocked. Hence, from now on, appreciate ONLY your favourite couple and no mocking or comparison of the other character/couple is allowed. Mention the scenes and what you like about them, drop out the areas that can lead you to indirectly mock or ridicule another character or couple. Remember that you are in an open forum and your comments may hurt the sentiments of other members who appreciate that character/couple.

Name-Calling

There has been a rise of indirect name calling the characters and among the examples of such instances would be 'that person thinks', 'they were doing injustice with us and then God showed it to them', 'justice was late but it was done' etc. Please remember that name-calling any person [celebrity/member/DT member] and using derogatory references is against the generic forum rules. Strict action will be taken against those who indulge in it.

Comparison

Comparison between actors on-screen/offscreen will not be allowed as it would ultimately lead to arguments. To make it precise and clear, comparison of Anandi and Ganga/Shiv and Jagya is not allowed here on. Saying phrases like 'Anandi would have dealt with the situation in a better way' or 'they are just trying to show Anandi as mahaan and guide Ganga who does not know to nurture kids' etc. is strictly not allowed. There have been many instances where such phrases have been used, but the DT has shown leniency and let it go without any strict action being taken. Hereon, nobody will be let go. Every wrong word used by any member will be used towards penalising.

Appreciation Threads

An appreciation thread is a discussion thread to 'appreciate' your favourite celebrity(ies). Hence the privilege of discussing your favourite(s) in a dedicated thread ought not to be misused as a place where you can chat or discuss about other characters, couples or forum situations. More importantly, do not use the AT as a means to mock another character or couple, or demean another character just to show that your favourite is better. If you have nothing nice to say in the AT, then do NOT say it. Refer to Important Information: Appreciation Threads on Balika Vadhu Forum regarding the rules on Appreciation Threads. This area has been the most problematic one among all forum issues, hence it will be dealt with in a most strict manner. Hereon, any violations seen in the AT will lead to private warnings, warnings in the AT, warning level raise or lock down of the AT for 24 hours (or more depending on subjective basis).

Fun Posts

We have seen the emergence of fun posts on the forum. These can be given allowance depending on the content of the post. If we find that the post is nothing but constant demeaning of a character or their actions in the guise of it being 'fun', such posts will be closed. Posts which humourously describe happenings on the show will be allowed.

Personal Attacks

This is something that India-Forums is strongly against. In a public forum, you would get different replies and responses. If you come across a point of view which you do not agree with, try to ignore the post or simply state you own point of view in a decent manner instead of having to be rude or instructive. Everyone needs to be free in voicing out their opinion without the threat of feeling that they will be attacked for their opinions (as long as their post is within the forum rules). Just like you are allowed to say what you think so is the next person, but keeping in mind that your comments are constructive and not investigative to cause arguments on the forum.

Moral Policing

Moral policing is not allowed under any situations. You are not allowed to make posts on the situation of the forum, advising how should members behave in the forum. There is a reason that DT are in this forum, hence please leave the rule enforcement to us. Do not go around telling members what to do, what not to do, what to post and who to post it on. Only the section DT is allowed to do that. Anyone found moral policing will get their post locked and contacted by the DT for the post in question with warning.

Restrictions

Always remember that is a public platform. This means anyone is free to come and post as long as their posts and its content do not breach any rules. Hence members are not to make any posts limited to only certain group of members. You do not make any restrictions, let the DT do this. Any posts seen to be carrying such message/lines will be edited and the topic maker(s) will be contacted with warning. For whatsoever situation taking place in the show, all members are allowed to get involved into whichever thread they like. A JaGan fan is allowed to get involved in a conversation about Anandi (and vice versa), so long as the discussion is healthy and does not go to the lines of mockery and bashing.

The Development Team

Members are under the misconception that more allowance is given to particular fan base, although that assumption is greatly untrue. The DT panel for Balika Vadhu have no affiliation to the show and actors. As a part of moderating duties, we keep a neutral stand and go case to case basis. Action is taken purely on the merit of rampant rule breaking by members despite all the warnings and reminders given. Members are requested not to compare situations. For example: 'why is the same warning not being given to X members', 'I saw Y member posting a similar comment against character Z, why did you not warn them', 'why are we getting warnings and another AT is not' etc. Such allegations against the DT are unjust and unfair.

The DT is compelled to post notes and warnings to ensure that both fan groups are able to discuss on the forum freely and ensure that there are no clashes or engagement of personal attacks which result in the said post getting locked. We know that this comes across as harsh but we are left with no choice because the freedom that is given to all members is being taken for granted and misused to compare and mock other characters of the show. The DT cannot just sit and keep sending warnings to members for constantly breaking rules. You will be warned depending on your breach, and your warning level can be subject to a raise.

If someone has posted a topic that does not agree with your viewpoint, it does not mean that the person is wrong in his/her opinion for the show and its actors. Constructive criticism or a negative opinion on an actor/actress and their acting IS allowed - this is not bashing. Members ought to know that there is a thin line of difference between constructive criticism and mocking or bashing. That thin line is to be respect at all times. If you go overboard with post(s), you will be penalised.

* * * * *

Hereon, the DT will assume that ALL members of the forum have read this warning. We are allowing a 24 hours grace period to get familiar with the new rules. Be warned that a breach of ANY of the above can and will be used to give you a warning level raise and/or a possible ban from the forum.

Lastly, please utilise the report button if you find violating posts. The DT will step in to resolve any issue in the most fair and best possible manner. You as a member should not add fuel to the fire; you will be held liable for your actions (doesn't matter who started it).

A gentle reminder, please skim through the generic Code of Conduct if you haven't already.
