I just saw an interview from one of the writers GK.
Very old interview of hers.
When asked about Anandi's character - she only said that Anandi will never turn negative and that was the only thing that she was certain about and she will always do what she believes is right and what she believes will benefit people around her.
Anandi is only larger than life where her good intentions are concerned the writers never intended her to be perfect - only thing special about her is her faith in human goodness.Even when others lose hope she doesn't lose hope nor does she give up.
They never shown her as a super woman - they have always shown her trying to do what her heart tells her to do in the face of adversities -
Don't know why people expect her to be perfect when the writers never claimed that Anandi is perfect.
Comparing Shiv with Anandi and saying Shiv is better - This is another ridiculous comparison - Shiv and Anandi are positive characters which will never turn negative.
Shiv grew up in an educated affluent family got good education
Anandi never went to school or college - she is selfmade - she grew up in atmosphere and community which is steeped in age old traditions beliefs and customs.
She was brought up to believe that she should do sewa of her sasural and become darling of her sasural waleand her salvation mukti marg lies in pleasing her sasural wale.
Why people are busy comparing her with Shiv who was brought up in a modern family?
Why people compare Anandi with modern women instead of comparing her with Gauri who also was fed with same beliefs?
Anandi's growth is all about going against traditions and beliefs that go against humanity
She came a long way from believing that divorce is a social stigma, which was the reason why she couldn't bring herself to give divorce to Jagya because she didn't want the families to bear that stigma.
Anandi's string points are goodness and boldness with which she goes against tradition and people think that she was weak with DB
Was she weak or was she patient with her?
Why patience is mistaken for weakness?
