Since childhood Jagya was a wanderer...without any set goals. To escape from the ire of his father...he ran away from the house - to Mumbai...which created so many problems to his family, esp.to Anandi!! .It was a life changing experience to both Jagya and Anandi in different ways. Anandi almost lost her life...lost her memory...lost her husband to[kid] Gauri...because of Dadisaa 's illogical decision !
Jagya was a pampered kid, spoilt brat , a male with high self esteem...but emotionally dependent...egocentric but very intelligent, having a very kind heart .He has always been good at heart . He was emotionally attached to Anandi.. at all stages in all circumstances . Anandi had been his weakness as well as his great strength too . That was the paradox in their relationship !!
All through the story, his character revolved around Anandi's character...when he loved her, people liked him as a cute boy or Handsome Hero; but as he started troubling her, viewers started hating him! But on both occasions viewers appreciated the acting skills of Shashank ! That is the quality and caliber of a great actor !
Jagya had a sense of belonging for Anandi ever since their childhood marriage and developed a lot of affinity and friendship, which in the later part of his life was to turn into reverence, till the time he came across Gauri whom he married and had intense love-hate relationship !!
As a grown up Jagdish ! He was introduced in a highly romantic way ...as the charming Beendh of Balika Vadhu Anandi ! ! In disguise, he played with her sentiments, teased her and kept her in the dark that he is her Dream Prince, whom she was longing to see ! Again.on her 18th birth day he participates in her birthday celebrations and Anandi gets thrilled to realize that the prince charming is her own husband !
Anandi and Jagdish's childhood attachment... companionship ...adolescent passionate love----matured friendship...were a treat to watch! His behavior was extravagant ... passionate ... hers was tender... sensitive...with delicate expression of feelings; filled with captivating smiles ... she enthralled him ... with heavenly beauty ...rustic innocence...!
But unfortunately, the teenage love saga ended abruptly!!
Though Jagdish deceived and rejected and divorced Anandi...that childhood attachment...dependence... and bonding had been still there!
His infatuation for Gauri made him run far away from his roots and Anandi,
Jagya and Anandi were separated physically but attached mentally"Depended on each other emotionally.!!! She saved him - he saved her - later he crushed her dreams-she went into seclusion-and later he wanted her back - she wanted to move forward.
Who is responsible for this hiatus? Here the culprit is Child marriage !
A grown up Jagya while in city was attracted mentally and bodily to his educated & intelligent classmate, Gauri and wanted to settle down in life with her ! Towards this goal, he was guided by the materialistic & suspicious Gauri's designs, and lied and committed mistakes repeatedly with camouflaged mind and confronted his own people and struggled a lot in that phase of his life !
He romanced Anandi and Gauri at different stages of his life, under different circumstances. He left them, again for different reasons, as prompted by circumstances!!
His involvement and concern for his ladies at various stages of his life in unique conditions, has been genuine and he tried his best to bring about a balance and to do things what he thought were right in those given circumstances, especially while dealing with his family and Anandi while staying married to Gauri!
Outwardly his blunders might seem unpardonable ...but he is eligible for forgiveness ...because there has always been a reason behind everything he did!
He regretted for his faults and tried to rectify them and later has evolved as a great understanding husband to Ganga and achieved his goals in the social sphere and reinforced his family bonding and regained his space in Badi haveli as a laadla beta' who is dependable and trustworthy more than ever before!
At times leaders commit mistakes, but they do have the wisdom to admit it and rectify them with dignity !
A story of indecisiveness ended in a saga of everlasting respect for Anandi, as he realized her importance after parting ways with Gauri; but an irrevocable revelation that they are forever APART dawned on him! Jagdish realized that he lost his wife Anandi forever---but continues to treasure her friendship. She had forgiven him..and they are best friends now . A relationship which started with friendship as they were married at an age when they didn't know any other meaning of their bond than friendship , fell in love as teenagers because of being the most influential people in each other's lives , also a tender age to fall in love and know its true meaning Their relationship is still at friendship Thus beautifully defining the theme kachi umer k pake rishte The only rishta apart from blood relations that stays forever from childhood is friendship not child marriage . Jagdish's character so far has been complex because of his inherent weaknesses as well as assertive audacity. An intelligent writer can use his character in any way he wants to fortify the story line. Then Jagdish was an adolescent lover...[to Anandi &Gauri]-- in transitional stage of physical and psychological development.. he was attracted towards urban life , disowned his rural background and his own people... He changed his name from Jagdish to Jagat , deceived and rejected Anandi with eyes wide shut...without realizing the implications and impact of that immature decision..as a result of infatuation towards Gauri !
On the other hand, Gauri had strong convictions... assessments about persons and situations ... with clear understanding of her priorities.. She was.very decisive...assertive and had a clear cut opinion on life...but after marrying with Jagdish knowingly he is already married to Anandi and same boy with whom she was married in childhood ,she turned, insecure , vengeful ,cunning , cruel
She was never accepted by his family. Once again being rejected by the same family who didn't accept her in childhood she became revenge obsessed and distanced herself from Jagdish and lost peaceful and serene life!!!
In that process she lost Jagdish- her love life
In an urge to have him completely for herself because of insecurity owing to Jagdish's perseverance and leanings towards his family and Anandi . The emotional dependence and feeling of security, for which she was longing for long, she actually got it but lost it because of her ego and revenge obsession on Jagdish 's family . She lied to him ,kept building her castle on lies , planned and plotted to distance him from his family making a challenge with his mother behind his back she will never let him come back to his family again , knowing very well how much he is desperate to get back to his family ,she insulted his father behind his back knowing very well he will not like it , she took advantage of his blind faith on her and used him to take revenge from his family , even hid of the truth of her miscarriage from him which happened due to her own reckless driving but she cunningly manipulated the situation putting blame on Anandi , never telling the truth and turning Jagdish's grief on losing his child into anger on Anandi When her truth came in front of Jagdish instead of accepting her misdeeds , blinded with her ego Gauri showed no remorse , she did not care at all . After seeing Gauri's true face Jagdish parted ways with her
Jagdish was disillusioned and lost his self-identity...and suddenly a strong feeling of self pity engulfed him. He started longing for his family..started realizing the importance of Anandi... felt the vacuum of her absence in his life. Suddenly he felt all alone and had nowhere to go and that temporarily rendered him a negative character, who tried to make life miserable for Anandi as because of her his family was not accepting him back . But soon he realized his mistakes and overcame his evilness in his mind and pushed himself to his previous heights!
He tried to talk with Gauri again but blinded with her ego and revenge as she lost a challenge to his mother, Gauri refused to see him She never replied to his letter thus the fate of this relationship was sealed here forever
Dr.Jagdish Singh and Sanchi ...
Sanchi was attracted towards Jagdish because of his chivalrous nature... he saved her when she was wounded and fell by the road side, he saved her when she was booed by passersby on Udaipur road ,then again he saved her from her MBA classmates from molestation !
She started liking him and assumed as if he was her own ! His physical appeal attracted her and she could do anything to have this handsome man in her life
She wanted him ...followed him...cornered him...got him...fancied her love with red coats and black kheer...with a war cry- like love declaration , in the middle of the night on a deserted road...then a whimsical fashion parade at that midnight ...and in unabashed expression of her crush, offered a kiss on the platter... rejected by him deserted by him, felt insulted by him and determined to make him realize the level of her love... She went to every limit to get him She threatened him with her whimsical whips , cut her wrist so she can have him through emotional blackmail but when failed , she became vengeful and dragged him to the court with a false blame to punish him but Ganga failed her plans and revealed her true face in front of all
Jagdish agreed to marry Sanchi only because of Dadisaa and Sumitra's insistence that Anandi's life will be affected if he said no to her Sasural's wish !
In this phase ...throughout he was in two minds ...his heart was longing for Ganga ,the damsel in distress whom he saved , with whom he bonded over her child Mannu In Mannu Jagdish started seeing his own lost child who died before coming in this world because of Gauri's negligence , Ganga whose soul sealer was Jagdish, she became his soul healer too Her comforting words and company used to heal Jagdish's wouded soul but his duty towards his family demanded to marry Sanchi ... He struggled a lot in that phase ..
When he heard the insulting words of Sanchi for his family in the Coffee shop , he realized her crooked and cunning nature and then went on to be assertive and decided to distance himself from this Rishta and directed by his conscience, married Ganga whom he loved most and who adored him as her savior ,mentor ,guide and Philosopher Doctor saa, in a lightning moment!
Also a Balika Vadhu, Ganga suffered a lot in her earlier life for long. Married at a tender age of 13 to a man about her father's age Ratan Singh ,she grew up bearing in human behavior of her husband and in laws, she was attacked by her in-laws and husband repeatedly and had to escape from Sasural with her small child Mannu , whom she wanted to save and give a better upbringing away from his cruel grandparents and father ...She was cruelly beaten up by Ratan Singh and was saved by Jagdish .. Deserted by fate...escorted by misfortune...wounded by marriage...tortured by relationships...she had only a small shade- under a tender sapling ...her son, Mannu... then at last she got solace in her association with Dr Jagdish, after a long tired journey !
Later inspired by him she studied and became a trained Nurse.
Again he saved her from the strong hold of the blind law when she was jailed in Mangalore for her uncommitted sin ! In that heart wrenching situation Jagdish went there and stood by her side and saved her from that situation in that unacquainted far off land !
He withstood all tests and came out of the docile and indecisive phases of his life and again regained his confidence and assertive nature and married Ganga like a true romantic hero ! Circumstances lead her marriage to Doctor saa ... she consequently won the hearts of his family members and our hearts too. Her marriage with Doctor saa ...is like a fairy tale like, but a fiercely fought one too!
Her love, affection and commitment towards Jagdish has been awe-inspiring, whether it is the way she ferries a terribly wounded Jagya, when Ratan's goons mauled him near the temple, or when she pleads with the doctor to save Jagya at any cost, touching his feet and announcing that she cannot be alive if anything happens to him, indicating that at heart she was already wedded to him; or the way she runs bare feet towards the Badi Haveli to break the news of Jagya's arrest, immediately after their wedding !
Ganga ...at first a solace seeker from Jagya ...later became his shadow and finally emerged as a lovable wife and now a helping hand and a better half of Dr.Jagdish Singh in all his pursuits ! An adorable couple , eternal soul mates ...blessed with two lovely kids.
