First Look: Alia, Varun sizzle in 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya'

After debuting together in the very successful film' Student of the Year' (2012), Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are teaming up again after two years. This time they will be seen in the romantic comedy, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya'. This time too Karan Johar is producing the film. Karan recently said, "They (Varun and Alia) had an unrequited romance in Student of the Year', so this is technically their first on-screen love story." The first look photo and a promo video have been released. In the video Varun, playing Humpty Sharma, talks about finding a suitable girl for himself and looks almost desperate to get attention from the ladies.

The first look photo was uploaded on Twitter and shows Varun landing a kiss on Alia's cheek. Alia on the other hand is looking absolutely stunning. The upcoming film is being directed by Shashank Khaitan and it is said to be based in Chandigarh. Alia was recently spotted in Chandigarh shooting for the film. She plays a simple Punjabi girl and was in traditional look. The shooting took place in a busy market area of the city. In the film, Humpty Sharma, an obsessed cricket fan falls in love with Kavya Pratap Singh, who is a die-hard fan of Kareena Kapoor. Will he be able to win over Kavya and her family?

Varun Dhawan has given light hint about his role, "Humpty is a character; he's not the hero. He is someone who says inappropriate things at the wrong time." The film will also mark the big screen debut of TV actor Siddharth Shukla. The film is slated to come out on 11^th July. The official trailer of the film will release on 26^th May. A promotional song is also on the works where Varun will be rapping for the first time.

Varun is only two films old in Bollywood. After playing a rich kid on his debut Student of the Year', he appeared in the comedy film Main Tera Hero' which was a remake of Kandireega', a hit Telugu film. His performance was highly praised by the critics and the film became a hit. Naturally the expectation is high on him. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt has been on quite a roll after Student of the Year'. Her performance in Highway' earned her rave reviews. Her next release 2 states' was successful both critically and commercially. Both of them have earned good fan following in a short time and fans will be waiting eagerly to catch them on screen together.
