Socially culturally and morally ...woman has a sound knowledge about the ups and downs of the daily life .social work"an interdisciplinary field which includes the economics--education -sociology-law --medicine which are necessary for community development...in all these fields womans' role is very important .. most of the social movements were lead by women .Ecological awareness is prevalent in woman and they know how to balance many activities at any given time !! They have the universal acceptability to solve many a problems in a subtle manner. Being sensitive enough to understand the root cause of the problem and have a convincing solution for that ...is a special capability of a woman . That is why there are more woman in this field ---and considering it as a serious problem to deal with it, one has to deal with it in a serious manner.

Even before her divorce ...Anandi used to do social work...fighting for the rights of the widows...girls' education .etc.. She never ignored any injustice to the downtrodden...be it poor or widows or child marriage etc. After deserted by Jagya she seek solace in social work.At one stage she decided to devote her entire life for the upliftment and development of her village !

We want Anandi as a professional social worker. She has [used to have ??] that wisdom to distinguish between what is good for the society and what is not ! Now her world expanded ...she has a supportive husband ...ignoring Ira...every other family member is supporting her .-----[ don't forget that Sanchi is the biggest reformer/contributor to the Bhaili org. by donating 3000 rs] !!!

I don't think Anandi was a great social worker even before marriage. Even then she was doing social work balancing family (haveli) life and social work. That said, I agree that every bit counts. It is not necessary that all the persons doing social work should get involve in social work full time. And achievers in other fields (like sports, politics etc.) also are/were single persons. Perhaps being single gives more freedom towards one's goal.

Social work can be very taxing on an individual. Being single can be an advantage when you don't have to worry about commitments on the home front. But being married is also advantageous if you need to come home and mentally get away from the horror you see out there. So it all depends on what the situation is and how a person copes.
We had a social worker at the Children's Hospital that was assigned to us in the NICU. She got so burned out that she asked to be transferred to the ER. She was/is single. NICU cases are a long term emotional roller coaster and sometimes you have to counsel and console families that lose the smallet and sickest babies. It's draining on the soul. In The ER, you see more transient patients and families until they transfer home or to another floor. The bond is not formed and its not so taxing on one's soul.

Every little service counts, thing is, cvs should decide how emotionally involved they want Anandi to be in these activities and what holds the most impact.
