Colors channel has already been creating headlines with its wide variety of programs and some hot shot TRP ripping programs. However, this time, it has gone a notch above. Coming up next in the channel€™s kitty is the much talked about TV debut of Anil Kapoor€™s €˜24€™.

€˜24€™ is an upcoming television drama series, which is the Indian adaptation of the American series. Directed by Abhinav Deo, the show will have 24 episodes, with an ensemble cast from Bollywood. Stars like Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Rahul Khanna,Mandira Bedi and Tisca Chopra will be seen in prominent roles. Special appearances will be made by Rishi Kapoor and Boman Irani in special cameos as well.

Playing the lead role of €˜Jai Singh Rathod€™, Anil Kapoor looks forward to this meaty role, where he will portray the chief of anti terrorist unit of India.

The show is set in Mumbai and will be based around countering terrorism and the attempts by the anti-terrorism cell. Resources say that the unit has been an exact replica of the original and it will be a thrill to watch the Indian version of popular series.

Perhaps one of the most ambitious and expensive shows on silver screen, the show is likely to raise the standards of our Bollywood actors, who will be doing what most of Hollywood biggies have done. The show might help the celluloid artists to merge the medium of TV with cinema and use the medium of TV well to showcase their talent.

This was something that was tried mostly in Hollywood, where actors forayed to both the mediums to enhance their histrionics€™ platter, including their fan base. May be the step with €˜24€™ might fuel the same idea to our famed Bollywood stars, who might be seen juggling both their careers on silver screen as well as celluloid.

Produced under his flagship production house, Anil Kapoor, aged 56, is pretty excited about the series, which is all set to go on air, in October, 2013. He was heard quoting that with the series, he would be seen taking a new leap into his career, but he loves taking risks and hence the plunge is every bit worth it.

The actor believes the medium has better reach and so his stand remains stronger with his debut €˜24€™. The actor was also originally seen in the US €˜24€™, which had him essaying the role of President Omar Hussain. Although, he says it was a huge challenge to adapt the Indian series, same to same as the original, he was fortunate to have managed to do the same.

Now with the show almost on the verge of completion, the actor is pretty excited. And why not? The first trailer looks quite catchy and has the audience rapt in attention. With the look and feel of the show, the Colors channel is bound to make it big this October with €˜24€™.
