Am glad Ganga voiced her opinion when asked n did not volunteer it freely. This wud have been evident to anyone else except Sumi who didn't even remember that the convo was between DS n G. She jumped in n sounded G off but didn't stop to think that G atleast has more courage than her own self.

S is like a coward bully- she likes to pick on Ganga in private. If Sumi had guts, she wud straightaway tell Bhairon she wants other arrangements for Ganga n won't have her in the house anymore. I hated Sumi yesterday.

But her characterization is perfect. She behaved as she has always shown to be - she's meek, coward, appeasing, too simple, easily taken in (see what Saanchi did to her), and a bully to people who are even more powerless than her.

Agree with all the bold part hooked.

Sumi is a coward. She cannot express herself directly and cannot take control of things. Except for the one time when she went to Mumbai all by herself and slapped J for cheating Anandi...she never showed any solid action on any of her disapprovals till date.

Ganga was courageous when she decided to go away all alone with Mannu despite having a whole pack of goons chasing her.
She was courageous when she dreamed of bringing up her son in the best possible way inspite of herself being a helpless woman at that moment.
She was courageous when she saved Gehna from the goons.
She was courageous when she saved J after he was beaten up by the goons.
BUT
She was STUPID when she judged two people without knowing about them completely. It felt like she was too desperate to marry J that she finds no one other than herself to be fit as J's wife. She mentioned just the points where she fits to be his wife...like being simple and all..

What if J and Sanchi are poles apart? If true love exists between them, they would just manage to be together. Ganga does not know of Sanchi's manipulating side yet(that she wishes to play up with the Singhs and J), so she can't say that Sa does not fit here. Just when the singhs(Sumi of all), are/is happy that J is finally settling down, she comes and sheds her gyan on J's and Sanchi's psychology.

It was very kind of DS to ask her opinion...but she should have stayed in her limits and backed off in a dignified manner!👎🏼

Agree, that is what I was saying. Ganga does not know much about Sanchi, she does not know Jagya completely because she is there for a few months only. So she was not in a position to judge whether it is a good match or not. It just that the way Sanchi's charecter is shown, nobody will mind anything said against her.

Yeah Puja, Ganga acts like she had known the Singh's , Jagya and also Sanchi forever...and gives advices on their engagement while the ones(AnSh) who actually know about both Sanchi as well as Jagya stay mum about all this. It is funny how these advices(given by Ganga) based on this half baked knowledge are being termed and appreciated as boldness and courage. It is actually an insult to those terms itself IMO. Anyways i'm glad that finally Anandi has opened her mouth after knowing Sanchi's intentions. This should sooner or later put an end to this Sanchi's crap.

On a lighter note, i can't understand what Sanchi is going to achieve by doing all these manipulations. She would only gain a guy who can't even give her some attention let alone love...and she would be living with a family who will forever compare her to their previous most ideal DIL and ask Sanchi to imitate her in every aspect. As much as Sanchi annoys me, i also pity her for her dumbness. Her life would have been much easier if she waited till she turned mentally sane and then married a more eligible guy later.

But Shiv who has 'known ' Sachi for his whole life had no clue about his sister's feelings and thinks she is quite ok for the Singh family if she wishes it . She is oh so not suitable . Not for that family or even a modern family . Its her ruthless and aggressive nature . She speaks thoughtlessly , hurts the feelings of others goes after what she wants ruthlessly .

Jagya's family had no clue of what their ladesar wanted out of life . His medicene ambitions , his wanting an educated girl as a wife ...his capability to turn against his own kin if they came in his way and demand his share in property ...they did not know a thing and were quite flabbergasted .

Does being with one for life make the person the best judge of the other person or is a family member often blinded by less objectivity like Ira or Shiv who considers Sachi as his litle sister . Does he see her like the vixen she is .

And how many years should a person be with another person to become fit to pronounce an opinion ...10 yrs , 5 yrs , 1 year ,what . Is there a definete period . Coz these people spend their whole life with these persons yet they don't know them .

As i see it , Ganga is not over confident that she 'knows' Jagdish . She merely gave an opinion based on his daily habits and routine . She has been in his proximity for quite some time . And she gave her thoughts , when prodded , based on her observations . Sumitra knows Jagdish for all her life , she thinks Sachi is lovely for him . Is that true ?

Also , for Ganga , Jagdish's past doesn't matter . He may have a torrid past but she doesn't have anything to do with that , all she sees is that he ended her nightmare . Why should she 'know' his history . All she knows is the daily routine , habits of her benefactor...she is seeing him in his retributory phase and nowhere does this particular girl Sachi fit in .

Well said Koolsadhu1000

It was a case of asked and answered.

Why can't Ganga formulate an opinion of Saanchi? She had enough run ins with Saanchi and observed enough of her behavior in front of family members and away from family members to know that all is not kosher with Saanchi.

As for her opinion on Jagya, she has spent more than enough time observing and interacting with him and is capable of having an opinion on him.

It's tragic that length of time is used as a factor to determine qualifications of knowing someone.

Ganga is not stupid but INTUITIVE!
