The audience is the one paying for this product...and the day they completely stop accepting substandard products is the day the topshots in the industry will get the wake-up call they need to reform things but alas...
People are being fed crap and are just gobbling it down for whatever reasons!

But that's what I am saying Veds, if we diversified markets, than different channels would cater to different tastes. There would be channels just catering only to urban audiences and some to the masses, just like films do.

It is true, the kitchen politics shows will always exist, they are a daily staple for the housewives, but at least with diversification through digitization we could get our fill of what we want too. We won't be forced to limited choices and that's what I hope for...and I feel like that change is inevitable when you have lots of producers, actors, and writers speaking about their disinterest in making such shows...Yes these shows will continue to be made bc they make LOTS of money, but the way the industry was run on the analog system, that didn't allow for that to happen and it was basically a monopoly bc our damned corrupt government was holding us back from moving onto better advanced technology bc of certain greedy lobbyists. So finally we are doing what we should have done 20 yrs ago and so that is why I hope that this change allows for finally the content we wish to see on TV...it may take more years, but I am hopeful as long as efforts are made...which seems to be happening very gradually, but shall occur with markets opening up...sigh
