A request: EVEN IF SOMEONE DOES NOT AGREE WITH MY OPINION, PLEASE REMAIN POLITE. No Sarcasm Please. I want to know what People Think About the new casting- not whether I'm a hypocrite or basher or any other colorful term you can think of.

Seriously- When replacing Pratyusha Bannerjee and bringing someone else in the role of Anandi, the PH should have considered a few factors:

1. Anandi has to have a sweet personality.
2. Her eyes must speak a thousand words, so an emotive actress is needed.
3. Innocence should be a palpable aura around her.
4. She has to look good with Shiv as well as Jagya, since even JaAn were a great couple when they were together.
5. She must have good voice modulation.
6. An understanding of the character as portrayed by Avika-Pratyusha: Not a new version.

But as we now see, all these factors were ignored and casting was sub-standard and abysmal.

So i'm extremely grateful that the great PH did not display its casting chops n replace the fabulous Anjum aka Gauri... They would have destroyed her too. Instead they brought in a half baked version of Gauri's character in Sanchi - crazy n selfish but not cunning n powerful. Just to be clear, I'm talking about Sanchi n not Roop Durgapal.

At least, Anandi can be adjusted to: she already loved Shiv n her life was great when prats left, so we can think like her track just ended there. But Gauri has so much potential!!!! Thank you PH for letting her go in peace.

Actually toral would have made a better gauri than anandi. She is so off the mark for two main elements of anandi and those are of innocence and tenderness which in my book were a must for anandis character besides her inner strength.

Well.. pratyusha was good for her era.. and Toral is good for the next.

Pratyusha never had the chirpy ness that Avika had so does that mean her Anandi was anything less?

The casting of Toral is perfect for her next stage. She is fierce and can definitely pull of a MLA or even CM.

She has portrayed from her friday's episode that she is soft , shy and loving. So her romantic side is set :)

Of course, pratz was too young to play a mother. She is just 21 and looks even younger. So Toral is perfect here as she is 26 and def. can emote the scenes of motherhood extremely well.

So in my POV for the next part of the story, Anandi , Toral is perfect.

I am equally glad that at least gauri's character played by anjum was not replaced... She was very good and powerful actress or else I would have lost my liking towards gauri too the way my favorite character of Anandi was mistreated due to inappropriate replacement as per me ...for those who are enjoying replacement ...good for them.

you are so right @Suchi-Virmanian, new anandi looks chirpy and cheerful and the last episode also stamped on her innocence & coyness. she is a good match to shiv, both look good together.

I second you, it's not easy to find right replacement for complex character like gauri. Even anandi has multiple layers to her personality which needs to underplay various nuances subtly. I'm happy for those who have found anandi and enjoying her feirce/arrogance in place of innocence; facade of confidence against inner strength. I thought anandi is an ordinary girl who has confidence and strength as inner qualities and never carried them on facial expressions 24/7 unlike present actresses. Leadership is not about confidence on face or high pitch voice, its all to do with inner strength, ability to handle circumstances, attitude for life which P'Anandi portrayed, she is already a leader yet grounded; to be an MLA/CM or whatever one dont need to be aggresive or physically strong, leadership is not a body language. She had shown powerful side in jyothi's case, bashing jagya, handling reporter during jyothi,s case or shiv arrest, none of these scenes had shown A as weak or vulnerable. Even Avika's anandi was never portrayed as rebel; Its good whoever have moved on, but dont be so illogical by drawing similarities between a kid and 26/27 adult as human psyche is not accomodated with on and off buttons, once the hardships are over you'll get in to childhood mode. Between a kid n adult, one goes through adolescence/formative years, personality development takes place based on upbringing, family, social conditioning, peer pressure, childhood trauma, abuse etc. Body language of present actress is her naural one dont link it with child anand, she was spunky, cheerful n innocent but not rude, aggresive or it is a way to get over the original way!! Sorry for being a bit longer.

I agree Toral would have made a fantastic Gauri.. Anjum portrayed the character just perfectly.. With the vacuum that was created when Anjum left, Toral would have fitted right in.. Besides, since there was gap in Gauri's appearance, the director could have given Toral the freedom to sketch her own Gauri (which sadly they're trying to do with Anandi)..

Well I will try to counter these points one by one as politely as possible.
1. Of course she does. And that sweetness was kind of hit-and-miss from Toral for the first few days.
But in the last 2-3 episodes she has portrayed them pretty well, but in a more subtle manner. There was a mix of maturity with the sweetness which makes it a little bit different.

2. Toral's eyes DID speak a thousand words in the last 2 episodes, and she did emote very well. Here its just a difference of opinion which cant not be resolved anyway. We did find her eyes speaking a lot, but u guys couldnt. We could see something and u could not. Thats a stalemate here, with no way to break that. We cant make u see those expressions, at the same time u cant make us 'unsee' them.

3. U should not expect the same amount of innocence from her which was there 2 years ago. She is grown up and much more matured now. She is happily married and doing her all her duties pretty well. Even a 50 year old woman can also have innocence, but that will never feel or look the same as the innocence of a 17 year old girl. Honestly the innocence of a 18 year old teenager and a 24-25 year old married woman SHOULD look different, and unfortunately that was not the case for the last few days before replacement. I am not bashing Pratz here, just saying that her innocence look/aura was the same as when she started the show. It was really good to watch but a little out of place.

4. She DID look excellent with Shiv, and they looked gteat together. Again no way to break the stalemate here. We did find her good with Shiv, u guys didnt. No way to change or remedy that.
I can give u about Jagya. Honestly she has not had much scenes with Jagya so far to make much of an impact or analysis. But I may agree to some extent that JAAN maynot be that good so far. Hope it gets better.

5. Again she does have very good voice modulation. Especially comparing her voice between the 2nd day where she was scolding Ratan Singh, and the last day in the shy scenes with Shiv, she has a wide range of voice modulations. I wanted to say a little point aginst Pratz here, but I am leaving it at that. Dont want to start another argument.

6. Toral's portrayal of Anandi is much closer to Avika's portrayal of Anandi (the actual Anandi), than Pratz's. But understanding a character takes time, no matter how veteran u are. As long as u dont live that character and play that character for some time, u can not get a very good understanding of the character, no matter how much u watch previous portrayals or read scripts.

Well thats it. I have tried to reply as politely as possible and not bashed anyone or suggested anything to any of u.
