What did I say from day 1? Balika Vadhu is popular and successful due to its story and not any specific actor or jodi! This is why it has withstood many a changes, upheavals and yet stood tall! It is the attributes of Anandi and how the characters are handled that matter. Not the face. The show had been running for 4 years and completed over 1000 episodes not for nothing!

I disagree with those who allege TRPs are fake. The same people had been saying "wait for tomorrow, wait for TRPs, it's the D-day" etc. till yesterday and would've jumped if TRPs were low. But what they dreamt of, didn't happen so they changed their tune?

Indian TV viewers watch shows like BV (which are content oriented) out of habit, it's a part of their daily routine just like having dinner. And they don't give up on a show just because an actor left. They'll sulk if they don't like something, yet they won't change the channel so easily or switch off the TV.

Some of K soaps got ruined because their story was already haywire. BV CVs are impeccable with the content part. And if they could handle the show despite exit of a far more iconic Avika, then why not now?

This shows importance of well rounded characters and ability to handle story. It's always better to have solid characters and good story instead of relying on just romance between leads or power of one face (say a Tulsi, Parvati). The truly talented veterans of BV like Surekha Sikri, Anup Soni are still there. So nothing to worry.

Even if it has a drop in coming weeks (some of it is a given due to IPL starting, would've happened even if Prats was there) it will not matter because as long as story is handled well BV will continue to stand strong. BV, even at its worst has been among the better and saner shows on Indian telly. Viewers aren't going to kick it so easily.

Kudos to BV team! 👏

Word to Toral - you're better in scenes requiring portrayal of strength. Just learn more about essence of Anandi and work hard. You'll fit right in. Lot of bashing coming your way, even though you're not responsible for anything and have nothing to do in this fracas. You don't deserve such snarky comments. Many like the Dabangg Anandi (including my family!). Ignore the bashing, don't get too self conscious, know Anandi and perform her character well. You're working with the best team, they and you work together to show another phase of Anandi's life. All the best! ⭐️

I just hope BV team works on Toral, she also works smart and hard, and they all strike a balance in portrayal of Anandi and all characters. Despite its ups and downs, BV's the only "less" nonsense fictional show on TV! It deserves success!

Congrats - Proves that a strong story is always a winner. Romance, chemistry btw the leads contribute very less to an indian family show.

IMO

We can give a benifit of doubt to the show's TRPs for the below reasons
1.curiosity about new Anandi
2. A lot of people gave it a try to connect to new Anandi and watch the show
3. Lot of people watched for Sid
4. Definitely there is an addition of Ts fans
5. Few people watched it though declared stopped watching ( negligible).
6. Few BV admirers for its story line

TRPs for coming weeks will be interesting. A lot of factors will change.
