The creatives have challenged the viewers imagination by changing the lovable Anandi not only once but twice.
I couldn't help comparing the speech of Toral's Anandi yesterday with that of Pratyusha's Anandi coz I would try to look for A in her. Are P's-A and T's-A alike? No I don't think they are. They are very different from each other. But so was the case with Avika's A and P's-A. What made me accept P's-A at that time was the fact that they both were representing a totally different era in A's life. P's A was totally different from the kid A. The spunk, naughtiness, inquisitiveness, talkativeness, etc vanished. But the P's-A justified a change due to the age difference and change in situations. During the growing up years the kid A had to face a lot of ups and downs in her life which demanded that she mature faster than expected. What made this transition smooth was the strong story line and good acting by the CVs and Avika/Pratyusha respectively which soon turned this new A as an adorable and loving one. A one who made room in our hearts through her compassionate character who was also fiery when need be. She made us cry and sympathize with the trauma she had to face seeing her marriage fall apart. But she still held strong to her values and true to her conscience. Although there was injustice done to her she did not seek revenge but did only what was the right thing to do. The story line was strong and logical & Pratyusha did an amazing job portraying all this. She brought the character to life and justified it so well. Who would say she was a debutant?
After her marriage to Shiv, I did not want the CVs to continue reflecting on her past trauma since she made a new beginning and was more fortunate than others to find a perfect life partner and a strong support system. Hence logically I would want her to move ahead and embrace her new life. In the last few episodes of P's-A she was returning to the original happy and positive A just like the kid A. So it would have been interesting to see how smoothly they transitioned T's-A towards this.
For me, T's A is closer to the Avika's A. She speaks confidently, has an assertive tone and looks happy. This reflects A who has moved onto the next phase of her life which is more than welcome. But I still feel that the transitioning could have been made smoother. When Pratyusha left, her character was happy and slowly getting back into her bubbly self. In spite of that she portrayed the inhibitions and hesitation that every newly wed who is slowly settling into her new life has. Hence the change shown in T's A does look a little too sudden to me. I hoped the CVs could have transitioned this part gradually which would have made it easier on the eyes of the viewers.
Now what's left to see is what story have the Cvs penned for T's-A? They need to show her move ahead in her personal and professional life. The onus lies in the CVs now how creatively they make the story for us viewers to be convinced to keep watching.
With all the changes, the character of A continues to live and progress representing the various facets of a woman's life. Kudos to that creative mind to bring to us such a wonderful character..
PS: This thread is only a description of how I have perceived the character of Anandi. It has nothing to do with the actors, but more to do with the creatives imagination and direction. Your views are welcome but I request you to please present them in a cordial manner.
