LOL I think u urself need to read ur post first.

You said how can a girl with innocent looks be potrayed as a tormented woman:

"I feel its high time serials portray women of India as strong and bold keeping Indian culture in mind, not a meek pretty doll.."

My post is in reply to that.

But I wont blame u bcoz it were u only for whom Shivraj Shekhar was unrealistic about a week ago...so no doubt if u havent seen a real Shiv u havent even seen a petite woman whose been strong!

Why do ppl on this forum think that a petite and innocent looking girl cannot be a strong woman? Its so darn illogical.Have u ever heard abt Rosa Sparks or Mother Teresa or Yulia Timoshenko - Some of the most famous women activist and social reformers world has seen...who inspite of their petite frame and benevolent looks took the world by a storm! And no of them was an over-pampered princess. So pls atleast dont make fun of all such "real" women who inspite of all these physical characteristics have made a mark in the society.

why can't a women look younger ,, y mom is so hadrdworking plus 40 yrs of age but looks pretty young like 25 yr old lady ,,, many ppl comment her for this ,,, so what ,, pratts had pretty face n charm why are u jealous n giving pravachans

@TM Innocence does not come out of ignorance or pampered life. A pampered life may not make a person innocent.
Innocence comes from goodness of heart, simplicity, honesty and humbleness and humility. Even after the numerous struggles, one can maintain the innocence and charm and that is the speciality of Anandi character and the way she has been picturized.
Even achievement and self-confidence need not take away the charm and innocence. I know so many people who even at age of 60+ having achieved and gone through struggle stil retain innocence.
And also I dont want to disput over actors, but telling you my POV of characterization of Anandi.

i dont like this new anandi she dosenot at all suits the character of anandi.she looks old as she the mother of anandi not anandi. infact looks jagya's mom as well and same age of anandi's first sasuma . the creatives have forgotten anandi is 22-23 years old girl who was balika vadhu n now married to shiv. so they should have bought such a girl who as sweet and young as prats and most importantly who is at first looks like a perfect macth jagya n his family and than shiv as anandi is no normal girl. but here everything is just opposite she may look good only with shiv as my be 28 29 years old and shiv 30-32 years but she is perfect mismatch with jagya n family. if there would be any scene with jagaya it would be like mom and son or didi n bahi scene. the creative should have shown there is 10 year leap in the show now shiv anandi r happily married with two kids then she would have justified the character otherwise i don't think at all that can ever justify the character . what say guys.

@shrishu. Anandi is not 22 years but 26 years old now. At this point BV team will concentrate more how anandi looks with shiv not with jagya. She will have more scenes with shiv than jagya Singh family. You r more interested in looks than how she performs. Why should always a woman look younger than a male.

I was skeptical about replacement but I kind of find myself liking Toral in scenes as the strong Anandi who's fought all hardships, overcome lot of pain and has stood up to hardened orthodox people to fight social evils. She was perfectly convincing. Sorry to offend fans of the previous actress, but Prats always came across as a misfit in such scenes with her meek voice. Toral's face, voice and style of dialogue delivery were perfect for the facet of Anandi - the fighter, the sarpanch, the champion of social causes. On the flipside, she may disappoint in romantic or such scenes which require excessive crying and moping.

That's why like siddharth shukla...he has very good voice modulation. In scenes requiring romance he changes his voice perfectly and during strong scenes u can see his aggressive voice. Lets see how toral will do in romantic scenes with shiv. If she passes the chemistry with shiv, then all ansh fans will start watching the show again. But it's a very tough job for toral.

@bold: Yaar isn't that a good thing?! At least then Sanchi will be able to keep her mouth shut and we as viewers will also be happy to see Anandi caring for Jagya as his sister and not as the daughter of his parents' family? 😆 No matter how many Gangas and Gauris come and go...Anandi's goodness will always keep me insecure about Jagya...I know she means well when she cares for him...but it bothers me to no extent! 😛

The main problem with viewers is accepting new anandi is toral dies not have a innocent face ad young look. BV s mostly watched by woman. Being woman they r very based on looks. So this proves that they r more concerned by her looks than acting. Why cannot a little bit older looking girl be accepted as a female lead. Why should anandi be innocent ? In reality a girl like anandi who suffered a lot in her life must have lost her innocence way back. BV team choose prats bcos as a teenager she was apt for the role who looked very innocent. Now she has struggled a lot and became a sarpanch too. Do u see any sarpanch having innocent face. My mother-in-law was a sarpanch few years back and she was strong, energetic and at the same time very homely and lovable caring wife to my father-in-law. She is very independent at work but in personal life she always takes her husband advice to solve family matters. The new anandi will be like my mother-in-law strong, authoritative at work but very lovable, caring at home.

Can anyone show me a girl who suffered like anandi in real life and still has the innocence in her face ?

Your mother-in-law was a sarpanch?!? WOW!!! 👏 Sorry if I seem ignorant...but I honestly did not know that stuff like that actually happened...I just thought BV (as realistic as it is for a partially fictional show) often stretched some scenarios to make them seem more appealing 😳
Anyway, I agree that for someone who has successfully overcome SO MANY hardships in life (i.e. Anandi), it is difficult to maintain that innocence on their face. However, someone in this thread also mentioned that innocence doesn't necessarily have to do with facial expressions, but more with the goodness in one's heart...their humility, humbleness and down-to-earth nature make the foundation of their innocence that may or may not necessarily reflect on their face. **Okay I think I kinda forgot where I wanna go with this now...**
But basically, all I wanna say is that I think Toral's physical appearance (face and body both) are making her seem like the true warrior Anandi...and I think there is a slight innocence that reflects in her eyes and her smile (or maybe that's just her genuine happiness for having to play her dream role)...and I'm sure that with time she'll have a better understanding of Anandi's character and she'll be able to pull off the innocence along with her inner and outer strength 😊
