Hello. It is indeed Sunday and I am back for the day 😆FT is too silent. Let's provoke people: Here is my piece on a Sunday:
- Anandi looked beautiful, but she is a beauty in real life, yeah? She looks so Bengali 😆. Bengalis have beautiful eyes and lovely skin. Hey hey, I am a Bong too. 😆
- Next point, she should not have thought of her previous marriage while getting married to Shiv, to me its a bad omen. What is gone is gone. By clinging to old FBs what is CVs achieving? You know I think that the writer/director has an obsession that women cannot love again or get married again. This is so ghatiya thinking, showing his own backwardness. Of course women can marry again and love again. It may not be the romance of love that she once shared with her "first', but she can love again. Not so much Anandi's fault, but the Director is from 1900 days ! Do you agree?
- Shiv is nice and all, but his face does not express much. Also not dynamic enough for me.
- I did not like Shiv's handling of Saanchi, mana ki Saanchi was blatantly wrong, but as elder brother it would have been correct of Shiv to sit and break the impasse rather than every one shouting and putting her down. Because of that Saanchi behaved the way she did at the sangeet. Thoughts please?
- Here is another provocation: why did every one say keep her happy etc and Basantsa said keep her happy or else. Some problem is going to happen in their marriage. Thoughts please?
- And finally my favorite, Mr Jagdish the jail bird, he has run away again? Whenever faced with emotional atyachar, he runs away. 😆 😆
These are my thoughts this Sunday morning, had my eggs Mr Fruity thank you and now watching the test match. Life is cool, smile always.
But it was never so. There was no fairy tale. Only a hell tale for the girl. Having watched this serial in those early days, let me share some impressions...Actually sharpest rebuke on 'Bal-vivah' as a message- its evil, a childhood seized suspended- was conveyed there only. And arch culprit, by a spectacular etching, was Dsa then-an allegorical display of orthodoxy with a portrayal in a realistic scenario. The children were not showed any part 'husband-wife' (how could they!), despite those 'bind-bindni' squabbles, more a part of a comical peer interaction. Natural peer friction, gradually growing in a friendship bond- braced in a camaraderie, with frequent incidences of mutual helps in troubles (again, mostly at 'her' expense!😆). The child J was never inducted as 'bal-vivah' oppressor(!) ( despite that amply cited home work 'oppression'). This much over a watch of those episodes.
What was shown in adult phase; Jagdish's transformation into Jagat- now chief villain- an abominable renege, a first rate cad, has only this actual attribute to it -Bigamy, adultery. A Lowdown betrayal done with a leisurely exploit of his bal-vivah as a convenient pretext. 'Bigamy' here, because what they had resumed was a married life as adults and initially, in adult fondness. This grown up Jagat, in role of an 'oppressor', has much more to answer as a cheater bigamist than a perceived negative 'messenger' vis. a notorious Bal-var. IMO.
@ Bold underlined, Convinced on this over that very depiction itself- a snatched childhood- particularly from the girl. Then it doesn't matter, whether children were friends or not. Whether they grew in lovebird adults or torn apart on fickleness of one.
