I just loved the way they portrayed Shiv staring at Anandi when she heard him refusing to marry and not taking of his eyes from her!!!

I agree...It was so real. Almost that Shiv was scared/utterly nervous to face Anandi's stare especially after he himself a day before had confesses his love for her.
