Chapter 5: Yes, I Love Her
Shiv is pondering about what he feels for Anandi in the night. He hears a knock on the door. He looks at the door and finds Maahi there smirking.
"Tu abhi yahan?" Shiv asks Maahi.
"Oye tere yaha aane ka koi fixed time nahi hai mera. Dosti ki hai mujhese to h mujhe har waqt jhelna bhi padega!" Maahi jokes.
"Aa, baith" Shiv gestures him to sit beside him.
Maahi sits and looks at Shiv.
"Kya? Aise kya dekh raha hai?" Shiv questions.
"Toh kya decide kiya?" Maahi asks a question in reply.
"Decide? Kis bare mein?" Shiv is confused.
"yahi ki tu us ladki ko sirf like karta hai ki love karta hai," Maahi is quick in his reply.
"Pata nahi..." Shiv says but quickly corrects himself," Mera matlab hai.. Pata nahi tu kis baare mein baat kar raha hai... kaun ladki? kaunsa decision?" He tries to pretend as if he doesn't know what Maahi is talking about.
"Vahi ladki jise tu ek bus stop par ghoorta hai... aur vahi decision jiske baare mein tu abhi tak soch raha tha. Ab keh bhi de ki tujhe vo acchi lagti hai," Maahi answers.
Shiv smiles at the great bond between him and his best friend that without saying a word his friend understood his feeling for Anandi.
"Voh... haan. Mujhe voh acchi lagti hain." Shiv confesses shyly.
"Ladkiyon ki tarah sharma kyu rahi hai. Uska naam pata hai tujhe?" Maahi asks very curiously.
"Uska naam Anandi hai, maine uski friend ko use pukarte hue suna tha,"Shiv replies.
"Anandi, nice name yaar," Maahi says.
Shiv asks Maahi dreamily," Aankhen kholta hu toh voh nazar aati hai, band karta hu tab bhi vahi dikhai deti hai... Kya yahi pyar hai?"
Maahi replies,"Yaar, muje lagta hai ki, hmmm... tujhe teri aakhen check karvani chahiye"
"ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny!" Shiv retorts and is about to leave.
"By the way, apna answer toh sunta ja! Haan, ise hi pyar kehte hain!" Maahi shouts to stop Shiv.
Shiv halts in his way.
Maahi comes near to him and smirks.
"Chal mein toh apne ghar jaa raha hu, raath ho gayi hai. Good Night. And yeah, sweet Dreams" Maahi leaves.
Shiv lies on his bed and thinks about his love for Anandi.
"Kya main usse sach mein pyar karne laga hu?" he questions himself.
He closes his eyes and Anandi's face, her smile, her laughter, her glance, every moment of gazing her flashes in front of his eyes. He opens them slowly and a smile appears on his lips.
"Yes, it's true. I really Love her. I Love You Anandi," he murmurs.
Next day, in the morning. Irawati came to Shiv's room. Shiv is sleeping with a cute smile on his face. He was still dreaming about Anandi.
Irawati caresses his hair and whispers in his ears, " Shiv beta, subah ho gayi"
Shiv wakes up with a jerk and says worriedly, "Subah ho gayi? Mujhe school k liye ready hona hai, bus stop par bhi time par pahuchna hai aur..."
"Shiv, tum bhool gaye ki aaj se tumhari study leaves shuru ho rahi hain board exams k liye? Do hafte baad exams start ho jayengi to h chalo freash ho jao aur padhne baitho," Irawati reminds Shiv.
"Oh! Main toh bhool hi gaya tha... ki aaj se... school nahi hai... aur bus bhi nahi aayegi..." Shiv replies while stressing on the bus part of his statement.
"Arey Wah! Kya baat hai? Aaj pehli baar mera beta school na jaane ke liye itna udaas hai.." Irawati says surprisingly.
"Main udaas school k liye nahi bus ke liye hu.." Shiv says thoughtfully without realising that he has said it loud.
"Matlab?" Irawati asks curiously.
"Err... Voh... Kuch nahi... main thodi der se breakfast ke liye aata hu," Shiv changes the topic and goes to the bathroom.
After half an hour at the dining table:
All are having breakfast and chatting with each other but Shiv is quiet. He is lost in the thoughts. His face shows each and every emotion that he is going through.
"Exams k liye bhi abhi se chutti deni thi zaroori thi kya! I mean, students school jayenge toh hi toh zyada acche marks layenge... lekin yeh samajh me kisko aata hai!" anger was visible on his face.
"Oye Shiv! Tu koi Newton and Einstein nahi hai jo school aur board exams ek saath sambhaal lega... Study leaves are helpful..." Shiv reasons to himself.
"Par... aaj Anandi ko nahi dekha toh main itna restless kyu feel kar raha hu?" he thinks.
Soon, all the moments when he saw Anandi flashes in front of his eyes. His lips stretched into a smile.
"Restless toh feel karunga hi use pyar jo karta hai tu - Mr ShivRaj Shekhar..." Shiv's smile broadens.
"Yeh do hafte study leave and then again two weeks for exams... Phir toh result aane tak school lagega nahi aur result aane ke baad main school mein nahi rahunga... I mean, agar fail ho gaya toh papa toh mujhe maar hi dalenge.Toh kya ab main usse kabhi nahi mil paunga?" a crease forms on his forehead. As many questions rises in his mind, his anger rises:
"Kya ab mein use kabhi nahi dekh paunga? kabhi nahi mil paunga? Kya kabhi mein usse kabhi nahi keh paunga ki ... ki mein usse pyar karne laga hu?"
"Shiv, pani ka glass dena," Alok says.
"Nahi! Yeh Nahi Ho Sakta!" Shiv stands up, pushing his chair back and goes to his room.
Irawati and Dadaji are surprised by Shiv's behaviour while Alok confusedly looks on.
"Maine toh sirf pani ka glass manga tha, isse kya ho gaya?" Alok says thoughtfully.
"Main dekh kar aata hu," Dadaji tells Irawati and Alok and heads to Shiv's room. He enters his room and finds him sitting on the bed. Shiv doesn't recognises that his grandpa has come as he has sat with his back facing Dadaji.
"Shiv, kya hua beta?" Dadaji asks but Shiv neither shows his face to him nor does he reply.
"Mujhe pata hai ki tum zaroor kisi tension mein ho. Batao kya baath hai," dadaji says with concern.
And in next second, Shiv turns back and hugs his grandpa. He is very sad.
"Dadaji, mujhe kuch samajh nahi aa raha hai... Aisa kyu hota hai ki jab humein zindagi jeene ki vajah mil jati hai toh life humse voh vajah hi cheen leti hai? Aisa kyu hota hai ki humein kuch pane ki tammanna hot hai toh kismat humein mauke nahi deti?" his eyes were tearful.
Dadaji consoles him," Shiv, humesha yaad rakhna, jo jeene ki vajah hoti hain na voh zindagi humse kabhi cheen hi nahi sakti qki agar aisa hua toh usi waqt humari zindagi bhi khatm ho jati hai. Agar tum zinda hi to yahi sach hai ki tumhari jeene ki vajah bhi zinda hai. Aur rahi baat kismat ki toh agar tum sach mein pure dil se kisi ko pana chahte ho toh kismat mauke deti hai par samay aane par"
Shiv relieves after have an emotional talk with his granpa.
Dadaji continues," Aur vaise bhi tumne toh suna hi hoga - Agar app dil se kisi ko chahe toh saari kainat aap ko usse milanae mein jut jati hai"Shiv smiles on his Grandpa's knowlege of bollywod dialogues.
Shiv replies, "Thanks Dadaji"
Grandpa says," You are always welcome"
He continues," Vaise tension mat le, Anandi ko dhundne mein main teri madad karungia..."
Shiv glances at him with his mouth open.
Shiv tries to speak, "Aap.. aap ko kaise pata?"
Dadaji smiles," Mere khaas sutron ne bataya - Maahi"
Shiv looks embarrassed and worried.
Dadaji promises him," Darr mat, mein tere papa ko nahi batunga"
Shiv and Dadaji shares a hug.
