Mahi, I don't see morality in leaving your wife when the first tide of doubt comes. Gauri does love Jagat, despite all his faults. What I wanted to see was whether Jag loved her or not. He does not. I agree that she has done him wrong, very wrong. She lied about Bade Papa, she lied about going to his village, she dissed his family badly, she belittled him often... etc etc. But she did those things in front of him and he went along with it. I don't think the issue here is of betrayal as much as its an excuse. I think he realized the life he dreamt was not being fulfilled with her. He missed the pampering of his famiyl, which Gauri gave him nothing of. Remember when she gave him a pain killer for his headache (way in the beginning), that to me indicated she was a go to girl who took no nonsense and didn't let little things like illness stop her. He admired that. Now he hates that attitude and probably perfers Anandi's remedy of oil massage. What we admire most before marriage are the very things that come to bother us later. Like how guys love modern girls but as soon as they are married, they want a simple girl(shalwar kameez, no smoking, etc etc). In actuality, these two are very well suited. Both hold the same principles dear... the "ME" attitude. And I do not think she has done anything that is unforgivable. Yes, she lied and was disrespectful to his family. But he should have grabbed her, taken her to his parents, and had her apologize... while at it, he should have apologized as well. I don't understand what she did was so horrible by the standards he lives by. I am confused. Maybe someone can help me understand...

If you go through Jag and Gauri's last interaction, you will see how Jagya compared Gauri to the much more caring and compassionate Anandi. What better punishment for her? She will have to live with Jag knowing he thinks better of Anandi. That in some way she'll never measure up to Anandi's good traits and love. Perfect punishment. It's not a win for her to get Jag back because Jag is no super prize. He is a spoiled, inscrupulous, and just as bad if not worse than her (I feel he is a heck of a lot worse). She did nothign to him that he didn't do to his own family. And he supposedly loved her... loving someone is loving their bad traits too. Where has the love gone? At the first sign of trouble, he ran back like a rat to his family. He did not think of what he put both women through. Anyways, they deserve one another. Plus, if everyone used marriage like toilet paper, where would our society be? She lied and encouraged him to go for the money but he is not child. He has a brain. He went with the plan. No one forced him to cheat. No one forced him to sign the divorce papers. Karma is a witch and what goes around comes around. He better stick to Gauri like super glue so she can fund his life.
