Yesterdays episode was tooo depressing for me to write anything on. Not that todays was any less, but there were quite a few memorable happenings generally.
1.Lets start with the Departure part of the episode. So poor Bhago finally met her demise. Nothing to write here- nothing that we already didn't know - but just that single shot of Anandi lying on Bhago as she is flooded with her childhood memories was really heart wrenching. Beautifully shot sequence. And of course, everybody was generally excellent in the scene. I guess I will reiterate that BV is one of the few shows on Indian Telly with such a talented star cast.
And oh, I also liked that the scene was understated & muted. Yes, there were cries of pain when it actually happens- but it wasn't AS OVERTLY dramatic as I thought it would be. So kudos for that.
And oh, your heart just goes out to Anandi when she is dressing up her mom as a bride coz of two reasons. One of course because of obvious reasons - that SHE is dressing up her mom in THOSE circumstances. And two because she is basically using Bridal Solah Shringaar- something which is missing in her own life. I am surprised that the villagers who were commenting on Jugheads absence didn't notice the VERY conspicuous by its absence sindoor missing in Anandis maang.
2. Entries! Collector Saabs entry, what else! So I was really glad that they didn't drag the mourning part of the epi. I was generally braced for Shiv entry getting postponed till next week. Ah, I wish we could have witnessed the phone conversation between Shiv/ DS when she informs him. I would have liked to see his reaction on getting that news that HIS Anandi is YET again going through an emotional turmoil.
Anyhoo- liked that his entry was short & to the point. No zyada hype with dramatic music. It was EXPECTED that he would turn up. Of course poor Khajan was too shaken up to see him properly. Liked that DS gave that brief intro of his.
Then the DS- Laadesaar Conversation. Chalo, ATLEAST DS came clean. Yes, she is still justifying it. BUT, she told him atleast. DS I guess has always been the kinda person who doesn't care about her immediate surroundings. For her, the next move, the future always holds more importance. As expected, for her, it was ALL About AS wedding as opposed to the importance of the moment at hand. I am generally not surprised by her behavior anymore. That said, I have complete & utter faith in Shiv as a person. More on that later.
3. New beginnings! So the moment of the epi. But before that- Anandis reaction on seeing Shiv! 😆 Well atleast she didn't blast him.😆 Shiv reaction on seeing Anandi! 😆 I LOVE how he immediately lowered his eyes to AVOID her gaze. TOOO cute. I like their dynamics. How he seems to be the dara hua half of the couple instead of it being the other way around. 😆 And also, how he lowered his eyes but still carried on, like a determined man. And oh was it me but did DS's presence next to him- suggest that she was acting like his body guard in the event that Anandi came charging at him in anger? 😆
Ok, NOW, the scene of the epi! A NEW Beginning INDEED. So I have always had a problem with Shiv expressing his Love towards Anandi. He seemed to just go with the flow -circumstances & DS conspired to bring them together. But MY, has Shiv tremendously grown in my eyes or what. Ever since the Skype Session, the Dude keeps getting better & better. (Not that he wasn't perfect already in my eyes- but this just ADDS to his perfection 😳)
The fact that he took those steps without ANY provocation or pressure or suggestions from DS et al- like seriously- thumbs up to the guy. He is fully TAYYAR, WANTING to be a part of Anandis life and he does not want to beat about the bush. TOTALLY UPFRONT and in your face. I loved how he stepped forward. The Tana-Dim-Tana BG really added to the moment. Liked how he AGAIN lowered his eyes in front of Khajan. And of course Anandis reaction was kind of like she has braced herself for this to happen. That him becoming a part of this family is INEVITABLE. When she will be ready to make him a part of HER LIFE is the real question.
So thoughts on whats next:
1. Shiv wil definitely NOT agree to a pressurized wedding. I HOPE a detailed heart to heart with Anandi is on the cards.
2. Anandis opinion of Shiv in light of what he did today. Her take on the impending marriage is yet to be seen as well. Hope the poor girl does not go in a severe depression post this.
3. Wow. At the precap. Anandi- atta girl! You made me proud.
4. Still figuring out Shivs Mum, her impending entry, and her general role in the show
