Actors Surekha Sikri, Smita Bhansal and writer Purnendu Shekhar are amongst one of the oldest team members of Colors' Balika Vadhu, the serial that recently celebrated its 1000 episode.While the trio celebrated their longest association with the show, they are also not pleased about losing out on some of the plum projects that came their way. They could not take up more assignments because of their commitment towards Balika Vadhu. During an interview with Screen recently, Smita revealed, "There was this singing reality show on Zee TV which I was offered as a participant but I did not have the time as I was busy with Balika Vadhu."
Purnendu missed doing Mahabharat for a channel that had approached him while Surekha lost out on some good films that came her way. However much they would have loved doing those projects, the trio also confessed that they would take up other projects only after Balika Vadhu goes off air, which may not be very soon.
