what does heth singh mean that her husband left her because she used to have affairs with various IAS officers? 🤣
Her husband left her way,way, way before she was the sarpanch when she was just a simple young teenage girl who was a 10th standard graduate. I doubt she had even set eyes on an IAS officer at that point. 🤣🤣🤣.
Really, this heth singh also is a clown. 🤡
If he had to poison collector's mind against anandi, it should have been done on grounds of her running away scandal with shravan or something like that.

surabhi, i agree with you on all points. Anandi is coming across as very ill mannered... and comes across as needlessly combative all the time.
I understand that she is projecting the voice of jagya onto shiv ... because the one so-called 'sheherwala' (a pseudo city boy 🤢) told her things about how 'all' sheher walas are, and how 'all gaanv walas are inferior'. So definitely, after holding ill mannered, bellitling jagya as the gold standard for all sheherwalas, shiv comes to be a big shock for her, because he is very different from what she thought Jagya # 2 would be like.
That being said, I find it strange that anandi claims so much familiarity within a couple of weeks after meeting him (particularly since he is a higher authority and she is a subordinate) to be ill mannered with him. There is always some sort of reverential distance between a boss and a subordinate. Even if she thought certain things were odd or not to her liking, she doesnt really have to be so blunt in voicing them.
Rather than a collector, she keeps viewing him with great curiosity as if he is some exotic animal in a zoo 🤣 and keeps asking 'why are you like this?' and 'why are you like that' and then walking off in a huff saying "eew you are like this."
Since when did they become such close personal friends that she thinks she can behave like this with him? There has to be a degree of courteousness which is lacking.

Oh! ThanQ Khusi ...really moved by your depiction of a suppressed woman's heart...yes she needs venting out her feelings only before such a person whom she cd trust 2 b sensible...

I do think Anandi is too combative, more than necessary, but I also understand that she wants to make everyone around her take her seriously. She is in a world of men and has a history that everyone knows, she needs to be very tough especially to communicate her POV for others to take her seriously. She grew up being told that she is a "beendini" and is hence inferior to her beend, etc. She is now thrust in the world of men in a village where first, women are looked down upon, second, her history makes people under-estimate her. I don't see her as unprofessional, I see her as being very stern and making sure that Shiv knows very clearly that Anandi has no intention of offering a bribe or sucking up to him to get her way.

I see this Anandi as reverting to her childhood personality. As a child, Anandi was free, she didn't "respect" Jagya as her beend when Dadisa wasn't looking, she was very demanding, and asked any amount of silly questions, she questioned the norms of society as well. Over time her entire world revolved around Jagya and being with him, she was moulded into what Dadisa wanted, but Jagya left her. Somewhere deep in her heart she is insecure, since Jagya chose someone else over her. Jagya verbally abused Anandi despite growing up with her, and had no respect for her feelings. Anandi also has not had closure - on her asking him why he fooled her for 5 years, Jagya had no response. Anandi's questions are not answered, she has not expressed herself to anyone at all except teacherji who is not around much.

Anandi and Shiv are very similar. They are both honest, have a lot of self-respect, and very committed to their job. Shiv has a maturity that Anandi doesn't since Anandi has not interacted with as many people, its understandable. Shiv has dealt with higher ups and politicians such as Heth Singh. Anandi is learning. And somehow Shiv's saving her, their common goals, their day-to-day working together has brought about a camaraderie that makes Anandi okay with expressing herself to him, especially since she needs to work with him and doesn't want to be under-estimated at any cost. Shiv's simple sentences make Anandi defensive and lash out. I think any woman in a man's world would behave very strongly.

Anandi has been hurt deeply and has withdrawn inside completely. Heth Singh slanders her in front of whoever he wants, she has to hold her ground so that the collector doesn't listen just to HS. I don't agree with Anandi's behavior but understand where she is coming from. How can Anandi be polished when she has not dealt with polished people? She has dealt with situations where she is kidnapped, the village refuses to believe her, etc., even when she stands up for what is right. She is also so very young. She will learn, this is a very good learning experience from her. I do hope she gets to learn from Ashi as well.

I don't agree with this " polished " theory... The so called polished couple jago r rejected by all while shivani , Badi Masi , bade papa, all got impressed n supported Anandi.

Anandi needs no further polishing...she is a diamond from the beginning & b so 4 ever...

I am not comparing Anandi with Jagya, Gauri, etc. All other people got impressed by Anandi due to her maturity and manner of dealing with them, managing her family well, doing good things for Jetsar, etc. That I get. But Anandi is not very polished in her dealing with the collector. I was responding to the comments that Anandi has no manners, its not that she has no manners, its that she has been so repressed all these years and has focused on doing things for others rather than herself, she takes everything very personally and is not entirely able to separate personal from professional. Its not about impressing others who appreciate someone who shows respect and traditional values, its about day-to-day interaction with the men outside of her personal life and standing up for herself without getting overly emotional. If you read my entire post, I am actually supporting Anandi, but she is very young and does need to learn.

well said Nach!

Anandi will eventually learn to trust shiv and look at him as a friend.
She has been hurt a lot and she is careful

btw.. Anandi is the sarpanch and yes she is not of the same level as the collector, she is still the leader of that entire village.

I do not know if Anandi is of any lesser 'title' than shiv because both are two different sides of a river.

Just like Shiv is not directly under heth singh and no way less in title because their jobs are different.

===
She should not have yelled at shiv but I think she is hurt and thought that he was helping her with the school issue despite of her stern warning before, due to the recent revelations about her status.

and I think they are in that comfort level now where they can share their arguments and frustrations. This has been happening since day one.

====

I also want to add that when a person saves your life, you kinda forget what 'position' they hold in the world, they kinda become personally connected to you. This is exactly whats happening here.

Cat and mouse race...
when Anandi is in a good mood he shows attitude, when he is in a good mood she shows attitude lol
this time she is not sure what to think about him , now that he has come to know that she was abandoned... so she just reacted without thinking.

Surprising but I guess it shows she is just as human as anyone

I do not agree with this. In fact she is very professional. If you look at the way she dealt with the phooli case and the handling of the gram panchayat you will see that she does hold a lot of poise.

Its only in this case with shiv , she is a bit imbalanced ...that I have explained why in my post above

On watching the promo again where she is yelling at Shiv, I actually like her. She is truly hurt. I think she overheard HS telling Shiv about Anandi's abandonment, Anandi probably didn't hear Shiv defending her, and she was upset. Then Shiv offers personal money, and Anandi takes offense because she sees that HS will leave no stone unturned to get Shiv on his side. Whenever anyone found out what happened to Anandi - villagers, Shivani, her and Jagya's family - they felt pity for Anandi. Now even the collector knows, a guy she deals with day to day, she doesn't want him to under-estimate her, she doesn't want him to judge her based on that information like everyone else.

Her outburst in this situation is completely understandable. If course had she been professional, she would have put that aside and continued to be normal. But she is deeply wounded, the Jagya-Gauri situation has left many questions unanswered, she doesn't trust anyone, she needs the confidence that she can do things on her own, she has also been very repressed.

Like someone else said in the forum, if you hurt someone on their weakest point they will fight back. That is what Anandi did. The Jagya-Gauri situation is also very recent, very new, she needs a few years to accept it. She is not even divorced yet. This was an opportunity for her to make her stance very clear to Shiv. Again like I mentioned, she and Shiv are so similar and she does feel comfortable since he has saved her life and they do think similarly. Shiv has also come to her place for dinner, so they have some familiarity.

I like this side of Anandi, Shiv is getting to see the real Anandi that was suppressed due to people around her telling her to be a good "beendini" and DIL. I want the real Anandi to come out, just like she was as a kid.
