Koyal and phooli vs. anandi

One of the things I find very interesting about Koyal and Phooli is that despite being 'village girls' they are very much their own person and have their own identity.
We saw Koyal only in two episodes - and one is where lal singh brings her to the cafeteria to invite her for dinner - and another when gauri goes to get Jagya's address.
When Gauri tried to shake her hand, she did not try to appear 'modern'. Instead, she did a namaste by folding her hands. Gauri was a little taken aback.
When someone said something to her in english, she replied in hindi. And she carried herself very well.
The same goes with Phooli - she knows what she wants to say and by god, she speaks her mind with no hesitation - and she knows who she is.
Neither of the two seem to have any sort of inferiority complex when they cmpare themselves to city girls.
I wonder why anandi got sucked into her inferiority complex - that she was less than perfect, and she had to be someone other than who she was to be with jagya. Was there some deep seated inferiority complex to begin with or did Jagya's constant belittling make her like the person she is today - so willing to change everything about herself?.
I think she should change herself only if she feels good about the changes. Self-improvement is an excellent goal.
However, If she is changing just to mould herself into someone whom J or someone else likes, it strikes me as low self-esteem.
Granted everyone is a different human being and has different personality traits. But i feel that phooli and koyal both have a sense of self-esteem and pride in who they are...which i find lacking in anandi currrently.

I dont know about koyal's case, but phooli used to have ds in her life at a very young age 😆😆since she was J and A's friend - and DS would constantly put phooli down all the time - telling her that she is manhoos because she is a widow - and phooli had to listen to the same from a very young age -- and she went through problems as an adolescent also, and even as a young adult. Between anandi and phooli - I think phooli has seen far more in life - and has been taunted by more than jagya and ds. But she has a very strong sense of self-respect and the ability to speak for herself.

^^ now this the part where we can see lot of women ,however highly educated they are being submissive and not uttering a single word against control freak husband and In laws and believe me I have seen my share of women like that who can't speak their will in their own home even if they bring a hefty pay, I guess like you said its all about self esteem, In the case of Anandi she is a person who is perceived to be a calm and extremely understanding girl, where as that nature of her seems like a person with no self respect...And she will never complain as she is a person who is portrayed to be still in love with J
And in the case of Phooli she never said anything to DS all those years and nor her own parents when they blakmailed her in to natha pratha, but she was a stronger person when she had to speak for Anandi.
