by indian laws, if a person fathers a child, he is responsible for taking care of the child financially. however, what the society calls the child depends on the cultural advances of that society be it rajasthani, gujarati, bengali, punjabi, tamilian, malayalee, bihari etc.

I think Phooli will reveal Jagya and Anandi's relationship truth to Gauri.
Gauri still belives tht Jagya was unhappy with Anandi now she'll know the actual truth.
Btw I doubt if Jagya really loves Gauri he only loves her degree he got a doctor wife.He never shows any SR intrest in her.Their hugs look very cold to me as if he's forcing himself.
Any young male with a young wife/gf cannot remain aloof for long.He was not like tht with Anandi. Infact he was desperate to consumate with her.
Why not same intrest with Gauri.Even if gets to romance her they either talk /throw a tantrum/or get guilt attacks.

I had never heard of this custom. (It shows how much I know about my birth country :-)). It is some weird custom where most of the thing is like marriage ceremony, except committing to marriage. It is rural version of living together 😕. Phooli won't be called wife. don't know what she will be called though. The strange thing was the mil gave phooli saree, jewelery and the in-laws gave phooli's dad some money. Instead of dowry it was other way round, the bridegroom's family paid money to brides parents.
