Gauri is a perfect example for girls today. Many girls today are well educated , knows discipline. We know everything in our POV what is wrong and what is right better than anyone in this world. We don't take any ideas, suggestions or blessings from anyone b'cos we are well educated. But we lack "SAMSKAR" and "Patience" with lots of emotions. We happily get married to someone and within one day we expect everything from the spouse to share or get rights from him including his payslips. If he opposes then our rights comes into existence. If the girl stays in in-laws house then that house become OUR house but when the in-laws visit the son's house it becomes Daughter-in-laws house. We feel bad when someone eats in joothi thali but willing to share anything from our classmates, friends or colleagues plates because we know everything and we are well educated. We feel husband is the only person we connected after marriage. We won't give any respect or values to in-laws or his family but we expect every love and care from them b'cos we are well educated. We give appointments to meet our parents and if we want to meet our grandparents it will become a once in a lifetime project or for some it will become a dream whom can they never met b'cos we are well-educated persons and we know everything.

Anandi is old tradition girl where her in-laws are everything for her. The every inch of the house is hers. she is bond to that family very much that her hushand is only part of that house. That's why she is not able to go out of that place. Everyone commented that studies are stopped by her Daadima. But she stopped even before, when she was just married and stayed with her parents , her mother stopped her going to school and restricted her to talk with any of the boys. She has lots of patience and we see that in our grandmas too b'cos our parents also belongs to this generations and those grandmas can withstand anything in their lifes.

Why all these are expected from women??... b'cos if we go to once house any bad or good hospitality comes from women of that house. The Relationship with once house depends only by the women of that house.

are you saying what the CV's are trying to portray, or are you saying the interpretation of society as it is now.

If its the latter i completely disagree with you. Just because you are well educated does not mean you lose your values.

I have a degree and live in an urban environment, but i can surely say i have not lost my family roots and values. I still have my sanskaar and stay within my limites, till this day i have NEVER spoken untowards with my in laws or have made any claims within my husband's household.

Just because someone is educated does not mean they are not sanskaari or are disrespectful to their elders

I don't understand why you are generalizing the generations giving Anandi and Gauri as examples.

I meant the later one only. But I said "many" not "everyone". Me too studied Masters and grown up in urban environment and and now living in US. I am not saying our education system spoiling our values but I meant that saying "we are educated" the ego that comes from it spoiling our values especially indians who live in america or in other countries.

And also I meant the family environment. Those parents who give importance to family values , their children also give importance except some people like character like jagya. I know many real life stories like they don't even know the mother's brother or even saw them, some brothers and sisters met for more than 15 years , many more..

I am not saying this is all b'cos of education but today's generation are like that and I mean not everyone but most of them
