Anandi was not dumb today. For the first time her expressions showed resolve, disgust and a sense of getting over her relationship with Jagya. She was not devastated seeing Jagya and Gauri walking in together, nor did she cry and reduce herself to a pitiable mass of a broken woman. Instead, she rationally analyzed the root cause of the situation and better so, thought it would be best for her to leave the haveli and have a life of her own. Anandi has relationships with Jagya's family only by virtue of being Jagya wife--now if she decides to get over her marital relationship, it's pretty dignified for her to leave the haveli as well and claim her own identity. She has nothing to do with the Singh family anymore, she is an adult---now free from her marital shackles and can thus decide to live an independent life.

I was happy that anandi didnot start her tears again instead she sounded firm and brave. Jagya too is to be blamed; he cant plead to be a scape goat. like gehna said, wasnt he happy with A after they met in their youth? the loser found another girl who he felt is better for his status and decided to use the bal vivah excuse.
I really want to know how gauri reacts after hearing that her patidev was having a gala time unlike what he said that he & A were friends only.
She must be slowly realising that jagya is not what he pretends

I do not think she was portrayed as dumb, but I think she was portrayed as a person who is thinking that what ever bad has happened is cause of that child marriage.

And whats the point of beating your head against a stone like jagya?

ANd Gehna has another dimension to this because she has lived through it you know, with her marriage with basant. So she gave that necessary other side of the coin ideology.

Gauri and Jagya, both educated conveniently blamed everything on child marriage and moved on. So they are dumb too in that sense right

And gehna had to highlight thepoints to them .. in spite of their educational background, they are zero in matters of life.

i completely agree with you suchi!!
i dont agree that anandi is dumb! she is a typical rural girl who has been brought in a male dominated society!!😲
u cant expect anandi to kick jagya on his b**t and walk away! that would be a parody!!anandi depicts a typical gharelu village gal for whom oppression and suppression are ways of life!! thts hw her mother, MIL granny all lived! 😲😲
y rural even i cities women even in generation of our parents, if one notices, are expected to be the shock-absorbers of a marriage, tolerating dominance, infidelity and even abuse!!
so can we call our mothers, MILs, kaki, chaachi, maami carpet?!
indian marriages survive cos indian women till previous gen have given up their opinions, desires to hold their marriage stead fast!! something that girls of this gen are not ready to do - whatever we may call it - women empowerment or degradation of values! the result we know in the number of divorces in the last 5 yrs!!😵😵😵😵😵

@lisBliss,

I have always said this to my friends, family that most of the time 90% of the time, its the woman who holds up the marriage,

Man has never changed, be that in India or US or anywhere else.

He still is dominating and its part of his nature.

As long as Woman can take that #$*( from him, the marriage is safe and sound but once the woman opens her mouth,

Bingo , Divorces.

One of the main reasons you see so many divorces at the rise today is because, the woman has started to

OPEN HER MOUTH

======

A marriage is based on Compromises and Understanding and it needs to be done from both sides of the parties.

shalini u r so rite abt women attitude not just in villages but also in cities in India & oder countries!!and yes only women'd hold this sacred institution intact. and now-a-days gals r not ready 2 do compromises.
though women've got sum empowerment & thatswhy they r bcuming aware of their rights but most men in India don't want 2 give the women their rights but still demanding duties 2wards themselves & so divorce rates r increasing!!🄱🄱

I think I was looking forward to today's episode since ages. All under the same roof and all in their senses.

Some disappointments today -
Sumitra - had been so wonderful on her Bombay trip and she raved and ranted but never really made too much sense like she could have.
Bhairon - Poor guy, he may have said some correct stuff but got cut short by Anandi's accusation that cut him deep. He didn't stand a chance after that - he looked so guilty.
Anandi - I agree that she saw no point in flogging a dead horse and hence chose to state the base cause and let it rest. But today she could have rather should have made him squirm, like the worm that he has been, by asking where was his support when she was trying to study and had cleared her boards. She chose to say its about feelings and he has rights to them - very dignified but all the same - very easy on Jagya. She shud have really cut into him. Called him a coward for calling it off on phone and lying to her for so long. I would have loved to see Gauri's face when his deception was revealed.

Am very satisfied with

DS - She ruled yesterday and very wonderfully.
Gehna - Awesome. I have always loved her character. I adore how she is so rational and lucid. She puts it so very well. But even she did not raise the point about how Jagya abused her efforts at class X boards and was so nasty and condemning. She did the rest very well.

Especially hated the moral at the end. They are trying to wipe all sins of the people away and only blame the parents which I think is so not fair. Even if I think they are the root cause in planning this whole tragedy - in this particular case - the CV's have no right to absolve Jagya of all his sins !!! Simply Unacceptable !

I wish Gehna has also said, how A supported J's education, and how J did not want A to study to satisfy DS and also felt jealous of her... She should have asked why J who did not want his own so called childhood close friend study now wants a married wife. My blood boils when I think of that scoundrel J ( I mean the character, not the actor... he is doing a good job)

Gauri ka bulb kab jalega?????
