Every now and then we hear tales of cheating men and sagas of male infidelity. However make no mistake, friends, that all these men belong to the same species. Cheating men can be classified in different categories, depending on their motives, start up conditions and modes of operation. Here is an attempt to codify the often misunderstood species called the "Cheating Male"

1. Type 1: The unrequited lover
Case History: Consists of men who were once deeply in love with someone. Unfortunately, they could not fit the family profile of the girl or got beaten by a better competitor or their love was denied by their own family.
Start up condition: Forced into marriage with someone else, while still in love with previous beloved
Present diagnosis: Pining for old lover, rejection of present spouse
Motive of Infidelity: Going back to the ex lover
Marked Characteristics: These men will be "faithful" to old partner. Their infidelity with the present spouse results from their fidelity to the ex lover. Usually very dedicated, often honest and uncomplicated species.
Examples: Prince Charles claims to be one

2. Type 2: The unhappy husband
Case History: Men who are not happy in their marriages and leads an already distanced life from their spouses. Both the spouses are aware of the failed marriage and are staying together just for the sake of it, or for children or property.
Start up condition: The old relationship is already over, meeting someone special in their wretched state of loveless marriage
Present diagnosis: Desire to break away from present marriage, pining for new lover
Motive of infidelity: End a messy affair and start things afresh
Marked Characteristics: These men do not break their homes due to new partners, their marriage was already over. So, these men will be faithful to the new partner. Infidelity is usually accompanied with a sense of relief and ending of things that finally needed to end. They come out honest with their old spouse and break up is usually the least painful.

Examples: Mr. Rocehster in Jane Eyre or Paul in "A Walk in the Clouds"

3. Type 3: The feisty philanderer
Case History: Happy marriage, devoted wife ( and children), no apparent problem in marriage.

Start up condition: Meet someone impressive and starts comparing with present wife.

Present diagnosis: Wants to have the cake and eat it too. Will maintain a straight face and lie to "gharwali" and enjoy fully with "Baharwali".

Motive of infidelity: Just simple fun or boredom with present good life.
Having a choice becomes a problem for these fickle minded men. These people are never satisfied with anything they have and always pine for the greener grasses on the other side. Lack of sense of responsibility

Marked characteristics: These men are faithful to none of the partners. They will lie to both and keep things going on both sides till they are caught. Often the cheating goes on with a series of partners, as these men will keep meeting newer people with newer qualities and will want to have them all.

Examples: Tiger Woods, Bill Clinton, Salman Khan in Biwi no 1

Given the history of TV I am afraid you are soon to be disappointed. Jagya will turn out to be a type 3 infidel and then soon he will be a type Tapu male.
