Mahaveer takes his leave and Jagya and Anandi enter the room and enquire about him, Thausa marches off and Thaisa mentions that she just saw him leave.

MV talking to Maasa and Bhairon with Basant (head down as usual and glaring no doubt) sitting close by, says he met Madan and Thausa and his feeling was that even after all this time Thausa was still nurturing his hatred for Maasa and her family and that he knew Thausa better than anyone else. Maasa said that may have been so at one time but since Varun's accident he had changed. Bhairon went into details about how Thausa had visited temples and got special oil for Varun. MV unconvinced but hoped the Maasa and Bhairon were right. Basant chirped in to say that a person of dubious character never changes in spite of what he says or does.(Implying that he was referring to MV also)

Maasa giving Basant a pep talk about letting go of his anger (Basant as usual looking irritated) when Jagya comes and asks Anandi for some tea. Just as Anandi goes to the kitchen the postman brings Jagya from the medical board. On being asked by Maasa what was in the letter he informs them that he has passed his medical entrance test. Whole family is delighted😃 with his success (MV watching from upstairs looks happy too). Sumitra calls Anandi to give her the news - Maasa, as usual, looks most displeased. Bhairon says it was the prayers of all the elders and specially Anandi that has resulted in his success. (Maasa looking more and more angry). Anandi rushes off to get Jagya sweets but stops short on seeing Maasa's disapproving face (MV smiling from upstairs) but Bhairon tells her to go ahead. Discussions on various colleges for Jagya start when Maasa changes the topic by calling Maakhan to distribute sweets to all the villagers.

Maasa tells Jagya that now that you have proved you can pass any exam and can do well in your studies, it is time for you to consider helping your father and Basant in the family business. Everyone including MV have a stunned about them. Jagya, the angry young man, says he didn't give this exam to prove anything to anybody but because he wants to be a Doctor and that he has made up his mind to go to Mumbai medical college (Jagya marches up the stairs, Maasa glares at Anandi who quickly follows Jagya) Finally Maasa also stomps off upstairs. Basant comforts Bhairon by telling him not to worry but to talk to Maasa and convince her.

Jagya😡 furiously tells Anandi that he would do whatever he wanted and not what others wanted him to do. Anandi (noticing Jagya's temper) tries to calm him down by asking him what type of doctor Jagya wanted to be. Jagya still fuming when Anandi asked him would he be an Eye, Ears (tugging his ears), Nose (tweaking his nose) or hands doctor. Jagya irritated but Anandi said that she needs to know should anyone ask. That calms Jagya and he says he will be a "Dil❤️ ka Doctor" and the first person he would treat would be Anandi who he hugs. Phooli entering the room just then looks away in embarrassment. When J and A spot her they scold her for not coming over for so long. She wants her treat (Jilebi's) from Jagya for his success and then asks Anandi what she will do without Jagya when he leaves. Suddenly it hits Anandi that Jagya will be leaving. J looks at her somber face and says it is he who will be alone whereas Anandi will be amongst his family.

Anandi has tears in her eyes and tells Phooli that we have just got together after 5 years and again he is leaving. Phooli consoles her by saying that Jagya loved her even as a young boy whilst he waited for 5 years and he will do so even now. Besides, Anandi could look forward to many exciting gifts like modern clothes from the city. Anandi😊 (smiling again) warns her to keep quiet in case Maasa overhears and gets angry.
